nobody ever search for traps
nobody ever search for secret door everybody search for treasure only ![]() but they will learn I was speaking idiomatically. ![]() |
Yeah, I was going to bring up action points the next time they became relevant (at the end of the fight after this one, soooo not for a while). You guys don't have any right now since you lose them when you take an extended rest, but admittedly you should have had some during the slime fight.
I'm trying to bring things in gradually since not everyone wants to read the books. I insert things whenever I see the opportunity, which is why Argumentus just tripped over a rock earlier instead of falling in a pit like I originally put on the map. Bluff Checks (and this applies to Intimidate, as well): We'll use Shin's attempt as an example. What we do with a Bluff attempt is roll a Bluff check (1d20 + your Bluff modifier) and compare that to the target's Insight check (1d20 + their Insight modifier). Of course, most enemies don't have an explicit Insight modifier and it's derived from their Wisdom score. So, using Shin's example, he made a Bluff attempt even though he has precisely 0 points in Bluff. He rolls a 4, and so does the halfing, but: the halfling has a good Wisdom score and gets a +1 to her Insight check, giving her a total of 5. This allows her to see through Bob's bluff easily and ignore him. With Intimidate it's your Intimidate modifier vs the enemy's Will modifier, but otherwise it's the same process. tl;dr let Fescue do the Bluffing, the rest of you blow at it What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? ![]()

Weellllll how about that
DEEP SHAME ![]() Ok so action points, quick basic explanation: If you have an action point, you can spend it to get an extra action, and then you don't have it anymore If you win two fights without resting, everyone gets another action point If you sleep, your action points reset to 1 If your local Warlord sees you using an action point, something minor but useful might happen That should about cover it FELIPE NO ![]()

Well, if you take Expanded Spellbook at Level 2 you could pick up Flaming Sphere as a daily, I suppose

Added the races and class from the Forgotten Realms preview to the chart, for what it's worth
There's nowhere I can't reach. ![]() |
well, less a book and more of a pamphlet: Forgotten Realms Player's Guide Preview
Also, I'd just like to apologize for not putting more aforethought into a fight which has taken a goddamn week ![]() How ya doing, buddy? ![]()

Dunno, hanging out constantly in a gloomy black cloud seems pretty emo to me.
(No other books to speak of, even the proper FR books won't be out until next month or later and the 3rd-party guys are still pretending that 3rd Ed is somehow going to hang around) Most amazing jew boots ![]() |

Guys
Would you like me to roll to see if there are any hot girls there What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
RIGHT NEXT TO YOU
Also, this is my fault because I didn't realize the map wasn't showing but you're trying to occupy the same space as Fescue FELIPE NO ![]() |
Huh, turns out that you can stand over prone people, yeah.
I have no idea what happens if he tries to get up and you're still all in his personal space, but we'll roll with it. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? ![]() |
MECHA-SHIVA! MECHA-SHIVA!

I am sure pointy hats will be available if thorough searching procedures are followed.
Here's your sheet, current as of right-about-now: This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
Ok, so should I assume Argumentus will be wielding the hammer from now on?
(+7 to hit, 1d10+4 damage) I was speaking idiomatically. |
Are you asking about the damage or about the to-hit
![]() Well, I'll just break down both of them. Argumentus gets +4 to hit from his STR, +2 to hit from his proficiencies, and +1 from his Fighter Weapon Talent (one-handed weapons). So, 7. His damage bonus is entirely from his STR, of course. Paladins don't get a weapon talent, and Gabriel's only got a +2 from his STR, so his STR attacks are only +4 to hit and +2 to damage. His CHA attacks go up to +5/+3 respectively, of course. But, in fairness, you did swipe that armor. EDIT: I was just looking at your charsheet and it had all 3 of your non-AC defenses at 10. I don't know whether I overlooked that before or something buggy is going on, but if they're set at 10 on your copy they're supposed to be 12 Fort, 11 Ref, 13 Will Most amazing jew boots

I present something other than Still More Fighting and everything grinds to a halt

YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO PUT SOME CRAP ON A CHAIR
What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
There is nothing I would like more than to provide a series of illustrations for this game's many ridiculous moments, but sadly I don't has an artistic talent.

Currently:
Argumentus 31 (w/ 13 surges) Fescue 26 (w/ 6 surges) Gabriel 26 (w/ 7 surges) Motsognir 22 (w/ 7 surges) with Bob, of course, completely unharmed. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
if the party had some kind of specialist in detecting traps This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
But door number 3 is my best favoritest door and I would not replace it for any reason, no indeed

Yeah, I just do passive take-10s. Most traps are in the 15-20 range, though, so nobody other than Scary Bob is going to passively notice any of them.
