This would result in a party that is 60% healers, an event which would necessitate me running 8 fights in a row involving cliffs coated in slippery ice. And guys with really long sticks that did nothing but try to push you off the cliff.
edit: when I think about it Motsognir/Gabe/Brigid technically made three healers but unlike Soggy Glock is actually kind of good at his job
At least 3 of the 10 adventures choices this go-round will involve angry spiders at some point. You can't beat the classics. (Queue Zerg constantly speculating about where the spiders might be) I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? ![]() |
Have fun starting over! ![]() I was speaking idiomatically. ![]() |
I'll take suggestions until midnight tonight and then implement whichever one is silliest. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? ![]() |
Okay, two things:
A: I let Glock cast some rituals during the last adventure despite the fact that he had no components, because his componentlessness was my fault (since I generated him that way). I just subtracted the equivalent amount of gold instead. However, now that the shops are freely available there'll be no more of that. B: (Irrelevant as it turns out) oh aha ha I'll just give you back that 20GP then shall I FELIPE NO ![]() |
Oh also just FYI put your adventure votes in the game thread and not here once you've decided, just so everybody has their votes in the same place
Additional Spam: also technically speaking Cal is now also a ritualist but only for rituals in the Creation category Most amazing jew boots ![]()

No, he has the Enchant Magic Item ritual, which is significantly more expensive in terms of components. He could make you a magic holy symbol from scratch, but it would cost you the full market price. The upside to this is he can make whatever he feels like instead of hoping to get lucky with the merchant/drop tables.
Transfer Enchantment, however, just moves the enchantment from one item to another. For example, let's say Cal finds a +3 shortbow, but doesn't want to stop using longbows. He could just cut & paste the enchantment on the shortbow onto the longbow, and then he's got a +3 longbow. Garrmondo just found some +2 plate? Now it's +2 scale. At 25G/pop!
Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() |
Why did you lie to all of us Like I actually pay attention to what I'm putting in the shops when nobody ever buys anything except empty jars and string Why buy a sword when you can glue some old teeth to a 2x4! It's just basic economics, people How ya doing, buddy? ![]() |
Alchemist doesn't let you make potions, hilariously. You need Brew Potion for that. Alchemy lets you make things like alchemist's fire, holy water, antivenom, various poisons etc.
It works just like Rituals in that you have to have the instructions written down somewhere as well as the correct amount of components in order to make anything. I think I kind of accidentally cheated you a little here in that you don't have any formulas; Clerics are supposed to start with two level one rituals and since you're an alchemist instead of a ritualist the Builder didn't prompt me to give you anything. So uh why don't you pick two 1st-level alchemy formulas for yourself so your bonus feat is actually useful ![]() This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]() |
There are no mundane goggles in the system as such, which seems to pose a serious problem.
However, if we use the Transfer Enchantment wording as a guide, we can reasonably assume that items of the same "slot" can always support similar enchantments. Ergo, if one had a mundane helmet, from say an ordinary suit of armor, it could through the arbitrary process of ritual magic become "Eagle Eye Goggles" despite still physically being a helmet. It's kind of silly but it works. Enjoy your Eagle Eye Leather Cap. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? ![]() |
Wvlf of all people I expected you to appreciate an excursion into Legitimate Theatre.

That's the last time I take you into my confidence Acer

YOUR POST-DELETING CHANGES NOTHING. IT'S TOO LATE. THEY ALL KNOW.
THEY ALL KNOW ABOUT... US FELIPE NO ![]() |
The twist was that he was dead the whole time! The voice you heard was just a kobold with unusually strong lungs performing a prank.
What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? ![]() |
It is less that I am a softie and more that I have a rich appreciation for anticlimax.

"Kill a single orc minion, take his stuff" is pretty far from a climactic conclusion.
You could say the same thing about "lol, reaper bails us out again", but it was intended to be a climactic finish so I'll grant you that one. Furthermore, the negotiations at the HBA are not a climax but merely a denouement; the climax was the nighttime ambush by the doppelganger bandit. So I would therefore rate the adventures as CCCAAA rather than your judgement of CACACA. (Not that there is an intentional pattern either way). Addendum: looks like it's down to whether Acer wants to go on another boat ride or visit the theatre There's nowhere I can't reach. ![]() |
Alright Acer, time's up. Nothing personal but if I'm going to throw people out on the basis that they're delaying the game I have to be fair about it. First warning.
With no votes from Acer, the play adventure wins the vote and a new thread should be up sometime later today. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]() |
Ahahahha more work for Skills, Approved
also hey Skills you're evidently waffling on that shield depending on the post-discount price, it's 578 GP after haggling you buyin' or not How ya doing, buddy? ![]() |
I don't even know what skill you would properly roll on to guess if the creepy noise approaching you is an ambush. Yeah, you can roll perception but that just tells you that, yeah, there's a noise, and it's comin' this way. No amount of perception is going to allow to to guess what the noise intends. It's all down to your own personal intuition, which is more of a roleplaying thing than something you can actually skillcheck. Insight has... nothing to do with... sigh.
What is it with you people and not understanding what Insight is for. Social interactions and identifying illusions. Okay? That's it. Seeing through deceptions and determining the motives of other intelligent persons. And that's why it matters WHICH ONE YOU'RE ROLLING, because you'll look pretty dumb standing there aggressively Not Believing in something when you ought to be searching for traps. But yeah there's both passive and active perception checks. Passive just tells them whatever their guys notice without really even trying, but an active check could conceivably roll higher and find out more if they're specifically paranoid or curious about something. Usually there's no reason to roll active perception unless you specifically have a reason to think something's up but your passive checks haven't picked it up. For example Bob's passive perception would say "Bob's sharp ears hear something quietly scuttling overhead", but it would take an active check to actually spot the false ceiling tile that's about to fall down and drop scorpions on his head — because someone's made an effort to hide it. (at any rate I wouldn't be enough of a dick to rule that an encounter that you heard approaching was a "surprise") How ya doing, buddy? ![]() |
Well, arguably if the situation is strange enough that you think what you're seeing might be an illusion that would be an Insight check, yeah. But if you just think it's suspicious in a mundane way then you'd just use Perception to look around for anything incriminating.
Stealth is also opposed by Perception and not Insight. I know I'm making Insight seem kind of useless here but at least it comes in handy more often than Streetwise ![]() The favor is actually owed TO the syndicate BY the Horde, but either way as you say the Horde no longer really exists and as such that plot thread is pretty much snipped (unless I wanted to do a subplot about Argumentus' farm being hassled for protection money or something). What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? ![]() |
People can know each other for reasons other than having been in the same party, you know. It's not like any of you have backstories so complete that I can't embellish them a little.
Just a minor FYI: I'm going to be travelling from the 8th to the 13th, and while I'll probably be able to borrow some computer access I won't have access to any of my materials, so there will be a small hiccup there. Not that much ever happens in the space of 5 days in this game but I thought I should mention it. FELIPE NO ![]() |
DO YOU KNOW WHAT IS ANNOYING
HAVING TO DOUBLE THE SIZE OF YOUR BATTLEMAP BECAUSE ZERG PULLS AS FAR AWAY FROM THE ACTION AS POSSIBLE THAT IS WHAT IS ANNOYING How ya doing, buddy? ![]() |
ZERG IF YOU'RE GOING TO METAGAME DON'T MAKE IT SO OBVIOUS
PUT THE COMPENDIUM DOWN AND SLOWLY BACK AWAY Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() |
![]() Skills, if you're going to claim to insult this thing, I want to know what the hell Glock supposedly said to it to hurt its feelings. Damn. There's nowhere I can't reach. ![]() |
The wagon blocks the enemy in precisely the way it blocks anybody else — it's a big wagon in the middle of the road. Wagons have physical mass. The internet has more information on the physical properties of wagons.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]() |
The only reason you're "safe atop" your 36-HP, 1-surge steed is that you're practically watching the fight through binoculars.
