It was in the room with the smashy wall trap.

I can't help it if Deni and Brady take 90% of the loot for themselves

Yes, but then every member of the party is in a persistent state of delusion about the nature of the other members.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Ahem. I reiterate:

The conjured creature acts on the same initiative count as you. Every action it takes costs you a minor action (which you use to issue commands), and a conjured creature cannot exceed its normal allotment of actions (a standard, a move, and a minor action) during its turn. If you spend no minor actions on your turn to command the creature, it remains where it is without taking any actions on its turn.

It's a 1:1 ratio. You only have one action left; that means the dog only has one action left. You can't both move and attack in the same turn.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

The party has 10 total levels.

In this battle, they fought and killed the equivalent of 38 levels of enemies without a single casualty.

Something has gone deeply awry

The axe power slides whatever it hits one square. He hit the wall. The wall, therefore, had to slide one square. I'm just following the rules-as-written.

(The marble thing was just too goofy and ridiculous to pass up, admittedly. They were randomly generated from a chart of "useless treasure" and I had more-or-less forgotten about them entirely.)

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I can't really find a straight answer one way or the other in the books, and the extraordinary unlikelihood of 5 damage/turn being more than a nuisance to Argumentus isn't worth the bookkeeping.

Brady you realize the dragon's innards are probably also full of acid

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Okay so:

knkwzrd just completely bypassed my cleverly-constructed moral quandary and blew the exit door straight to hell and gone, which more or less completes the adventure and incidentally will click you all over to Level 3.

Now, before we go through the laborious process of leveling up, shopping, finding Soggy a brothel, etc, does anyone intend to retire their character having got them out of the dungeon? If not, that's fine too. I just need to know who I'm setting the next adventure up for.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

Yeah, I'll get all the options up for the L3 Encounter Powers shortly, Martial Power sourcebook just came out so you and knk in particular should have quite a few new options.

Believe me, Hawkeye, if I had a problem with repeating myself I'd have strangled this bunch a long time ago. Hopefully they will start dying more often, though!

Okay, so!

As before, along with your new Encounter Power each of you can choose to switch out one of your existing feats, powers, or trained skills for one you think you'll like better. I gave Brigid Powerful Charge as a Lv2 feat, for example, and she hasn't charged once.

(There's also been a lot of new feats released since you guys hit Lv. 2, but I'll save those for Lv. 4 and just let you retrain from the old feat list.)

LV. 3 FIGHTER POWERS (excepting those in the PHB)

LV. 3 CLERIC POWERS

LV. 3 PALADIN POWERS

LV. 3 WARLORD POWERS

LV. 3 WIZARD POWERS

There's nowhere I can't reach.

"Radiant" is basically "holy" damage; most of your general undead types are weak against it.

Here are the heroic-tier feats from the PHB. That wiki's for 3rd Edition and can be safely ignored.

Deni why are you posting in this thread without making a power selection

So is an extra encounter power all we get at level 3? That's not really the transformation into super-enhanced killing machines I was perhaps hoping for.
An extra encounter power, more HP, retraining, um...

Ok, 3rd level is kinda skimpy I grant you

Yeah, I think we'll start a new thread whenever you're all done with the city and the next adventure proper starts (whatever that may turn out to be).

The goggles only apply to ranged basic attacks, so yeah, only the bow (or a crossbow or sling or thrown table or whatever else you may happen to pick up).

And yeah, you only get one Item Daily Power per day.

In related news, the official Character Builder software is in open beta.

Ongoing Free Trial

(scroll down to "Character Builder Demo")

It only builds characters up to Level 3, but it's still a much easier way to put a PC together than digging through 3 books and a dozen issues of Dragon. Just wanted to put this out there for the handful of "I want to make a character but I am so confused PMs I've had.

Are there some items with encounter and at will powers too
Yeah, those exist too, but they're rarer (especially at low levels).

Whenever you hit a milestone and get an action point, you also get an additional use of daily item powers (and, just like the AP, they stack). Each of the individual powers is still daily but if you go long enough without resting you could conceivably manage to use them all. It is not quite as stingy as it may seem.

Okay, couple of fair warnings here:

A: The only class that's naturally proficient with Plate Armor is the Paladin. You can wear it without proficiency, but it makes you clumsy as fuck.

B: Halflings are Small, so they can't use two-handed weapons. Naturally, it is somewhat difficult to use a scythe one-handed. You could pick up a spear or a mace, though, which both have better damage output than the sickle.

C: The sale / trade-in value of all your items is right there in the inventory portion of your wiki pages on the far right.

Take some time to reconsider your purchase decisions while I put together the price lists for the apothecary / pawnshop / magic shop.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

You could always just buy a generic-type platemail. It's still more AC than the magic chainmail you've got.

then you could conceivably give your used chainmail to Brigid, as an act of charitable pity

+5, actually, with the magic staff. Fixed.

Spears are tagged as "versatile" so you can wield them one or two-handed but with a damage bonus if it's two-handed. So you can do it, but it's kind of clumsy and stupid. Like Troy.

How ya doing, buddy?
