It's recommended that you only use one strip for 30 minutes.
Also, when I used them, I did find them a bit uncomfortable at times, especially if I was sitting up and had the taste of hydrogen peroxide throughout my mouth. And yes they do work, they cost me $10 at the local Walgreens after a $10 mail in rebate. I don't know if the offer still stands, but it beats the $40 Sass says they're going for.
Jam it back in, in the dark.
