Hey guys, I'm back. Had a lot of other shit going on but it's mostly passed. Now I can focus on things I enjoy again!
Blast Corps - I found this a little mediocre. Certainly not bad but it didn't do that much to capture my attention. I became distracted by the sound of an off-balance washer in the basement, and if this song were better, I never would've noticed the thumping through my headphones. Cloud OST - There's an odd juxtaposition between the fact that this song doesn't actually do that much and the fact that this seems to be what makes it so enjoyable. Fluffy Sweet was a nomination that I took to immediately and this one seems to be following in its footsteps. Creatures - I definitely like Latin music, but, eh, this is Latin Lite. It lacks the intensity of stronger Latin tunes. It's rather laconic, and though the accordion section was appreciable, it was far too short-lived. I want more energy from music like this. Gran Turismo Sound Collection - The jazz elements were so-so for me, as they were rather subdued, even for jazz. This is a racing game, c'mon! Fortunately, the overlaid harmonica balanced the sound a little more, in that relaxing, "Quiero Voar" sort of way. It doesn't feel like a racing tune to me at all, though. Konami Famicon Super Medley - This was novel. Did I detect the "room theme" from Goonies II right after the Castlevania opening? What I didn't like was the lack of bridges between sections; it easily could've flowed with more ease instead of the way it was presented in some areas. Gaps between tempo and samples were a bit jarring. Nintendo Sound Selection Vol.3 Luigi - Honestly, this felt more like Kirby music. Senko no Ronde DUO Sound Track - This one stands out this week for being both eclectic and trancey and also for being quite different than the other nominations. I probably shouldn't be surprised that this song is good since the rest of the Senko no Ronde music is pretty strong. This is Yack, right? Spindizzy Worlds - Gonna echo orion's sentiments that this was just murky and dismal. I came away from this with a thorough feeling that I'd rather not hear it again. Get to the Point(s)! 3 Points: Cloud OST - First Flight 2 Points: Senko no Ronde DUO Sound Track - Birds Eye (Mika Drop 1) 1 Point: Gran Turismo Sound Collection ~MUSIC~ Gran Turismo 5 Prologue Original Game Soundtrack - Current of the times Okay week. Nothing super special, though the three above were saved for future listening. Nomination!? Album: Sengoku Basara 2 Original Soundtrack Composers: CHAMY. Ishi, Rei Kondoh / 近藤嶺, Taiki Endo, Yasutaka Hatade / 幡手康隆, Satoshi Miyashita Song Title: Yukimura Sanada's Theme Track Number: 6 Year: 2006 Catalog Number: SCDC-00535 Source: SCDC-00535 | Sengoku BASARA 2 Original Soundtrack - VGMdb Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() |
