Bernie Mac was one of the key reasons I enjoyed Ocean's Eleven so much. Where you could say that George Carlin was about shrewd insight, Mac was about impeccable timing. Even his stuttering was carefully calculated. The scene at the used car dealership in which Mac's character is purposely stalling, that remains one of the most well-executed segments of the film.
I loved him in the Kings of Comedy, moreso in the Ocean trilogy. I was even agreeable to his sitcom. The man was simply funny. Why can't the crappy comedians die for a change? Jam it back in, in the dark. |
