Greenzap?

Waaaay back before the site crash (about a year ago) there was a thread created about a new money transfer service that was supposed to competition with Paypal. Part of the incentive to sign up for this service was that they would offer free money for pre-registering. A lot of people were suspicious about the legitimacy of this new company since the company claimed that they were be open and up and running for the summer of 05… well that never happened.

However I noticed that I had a bunch of email in my spam account so I took a look to see if anything was important was in it before I deleted them. To my surprise there was an email regarding GreenZap. It was a confirmation letter saying click on this link to verify your password and activate your account. So I do what they say and after a couple of attempts I remember my password and log in. To my surprise there is money in the account…

Sooo have any of the other people here heard anything about this service? They want me to verify my bank account and as of yet I am not to keen on doing that. Is there anyone still here who signed up for this back in 04/05?

I have a credit union that has 0% fraud liablity. I'm not worried about getting my money stolen because I haven't given this company any information about my bank account.

I'm thinking I might just spend the free money in the account and see what happens from there. I won't be using it for any purchases with my own money... not at least until this company can prove to me they are safe.

I don't know if they still offer sign up money or not though.
