Ahhh WTF happened to gas prices?

I filled my car with gas a little more than a week ago. The gas price was under $2/gal. for regular. When I went to get gas at the end of last week the price per gallon had jumped 20 cents. Since then it has gone up 4 cents.

This makes me wonder where that hydrogen fuel cell is... So in the mean time, has anyone considered another solution to the rising gas prices; whether it is hybrid, smaller gasoline vehicle, diesel, etc? I personally wouldn't mind owning a VW TDI and have considered buying one.

A few months ago I heard something about modifying current gas engines to run on direct injected hydrogen. Has anyone else hear anything about this?

Jam it back in, in the dark.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

So just because the rest of the world has shitty prices, it is ok that we get stuck in the eye just that much more with the price of the gas?

What we need in a solution, not a jackass holding the country hostage with gas ration. Besides I can't get to and from work on 5 gallons a week, I currently use 10 gallons a week in my eco Civic DX and I only live 20 miles from my work. I know people who drive more than twice that to get to work.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

You are about 3000 miles from where I am. So what makes your guys prices so much higher there?

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

See, shit like that would piss me off. Luckily it only changes once a day at most.

I could care less about people getting to work in cars. We run out of oil and you're going to be having trouble getting ahold of some damn food. Being able to get to work will be pointless if you have no food to spend that money on.

Oh and gas is 2.50 here. It gets really expensive for me and my brother to fill our gas tanks sometimes. Most of the time I dont even drive. I'l just bike or walk to where I need to go now. It's even worse for my father though. He can go through a full tank very quickly because the base he works at is so far. It costs him a large amount of money to keep gas in his vehicle.

Ofcourse.. it's been alot worse before. Almost 3/4$. So this is kinna a break from that.. still alot though.
The oil supply is not the problem, it is our ability to refine the crude oil that is part of these increased gas prices. I live 20 miles from my work place, that I have to drive to and from at least 5 days a week and it is still less than 30 dollars a week in gas. So wtf is your brother driving?!?

www.sega.co.jp, what part of Oregon are you in? Yeah Arco has the lowest prices in gas but I would never put that shit in my car. I'd rather pay 10 more cents a gallon for something I know doesn't have water in it.

Wow that is really fucking expensive... Even when most of the US had gas prices over 3.30 a gallon, Oregon regular gas never broken 3 dollars a gallon.

Wow that really sucks. What is funny is that CAD is worth more than USD but most goods in Canada seem to be way more expensive than in the US...

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Shit, that is expensive... I guess I am lucky to never have had that kind of jump in price.

They are smaller overall with smaller engines. Not that much different than some of the subcompact cars you see here.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

I don't know what you guys are talking about. I feel fine driving my little civic around. I just stay away from big rigs as Civic + Jackknife = death trap...

What it comes down to for a lot of families is that they can afford the gas so they don't care that they are only getting 15mpg highway when they feel safe in their big ass SUVs. America has some of the lowest gas prices in the world. Until our prices get like those of Europe I doubt people will be trading in their large safe vehicles for the little perceived "death traps" that are most imported cars.

2% milk here is 2 dollars a gallon. Whole milk (3.5%) is about 2.5 a gallon.

Premium gas is over 2.60 a gallon now. Regular is about 2.30 .
