To clarify for anyone who doesn't know:
Dark Forces -> Dark Forces II - Jedi Knight -> Jedi Knight II (the Quake 3 engine one) -> Jedi Academy
|
Could also be put in terms of greater-than and less-than...
Dark Forces > DF2: Jedi Knight > JK2: Jedi Outcast < JK3: Jedi Academy.
Original Dark Forces was an absolutely incredible FPS, and Jedi Knight is still one of my favorite games to play multiplayer.
Back to the topic at hand!
I remember enjoying Jedi Knight 2 for about an hour, but by that time I was so far through the game I decided I had to just finish it. So I used all the cheat codes and barrelled my way through it so I didn't have to bother with mind-numbing level designs and "characters." I didn't even dare touch JK3 after that experience.
However, I think there is one good game created from the Quake3 engine. Nexuiz. If you don't have this game, download it now. It's free, it's pretty, it's awesome, and the weapons are incredibly well-balanced and creative.
Jam it back in, in the dark.
