For me, this type of thing has always come about due to some type of post-nasal drip. Last year, it was because of a sinus infection. This year, I'm hoping it's not the same thing, because the medication for that was crappy. But, if you want to try something, get some sudafed. That'll dry it up if it's all just draining down your throat and making you cough, and that way it won't tickle your throat. My doctor gave me something akin to sudafed, just stronger, along with some amoxicillin to kill the infection, I believe.
Jam it back in, in the dark.
