S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl is a recent FPS, and while it is far from perfect, it has an absolutely amazing atmosphere. The gunplay is fun once you get into the game (beginning can be rough). It also has fairly open areas for a FPS, and some RPG elements as well.
It's the first PC game in years (since Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines) where I've actually felt good about supporting the developers. Though you might want to try it first since it's rather special. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
