"Judging from the intensity of this one, it could last a long time," he added.

Ignoring how hilarious those Icelandic names look this may not be the last air travel disruption due to ash. Britain will continue to be inconvenienced as Iceland explodes and floods.
I'm nowhere near any volcanoes, but I used to hear about the
Mt. St. Helens eruption all the time when I was younger. This was the eruption teachers and such always showed pictures of when volcanoes came up mostly because of how devastating it was and the fact that it's still active.
