My Wii didn't like my router connection last night, so I haven't actually gotten around to adding anyone yet. I'll get to the wiki tomorrow night and add everyone, but for now my code is 4639-8671-0953. I'm always up for a good match, though I haven't gotten to play as much as I'd like yet. Damn 9 hour car trip the day after Smash's release.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Well just had a couple bouts with Tritoch, it was really fun.

So yeah, I'll be on this tomorrow night probably =D
Never corner a Squirtle on a bridge. Never.

I was a bit worried after all the complaints of lag, but I guess that's died down already. We didn't seem to have any lag at all until our final match, so that bodes well for the game's future.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Well had another fine bout with Tritoch.

I learned that I suck badly with Wario. Samus/ZZS and Lucario are still good everyone against Tritoch's Squirtley might though.
Fixed for a more accurate match description.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I finally sat down and entered in every friend code on the wiki page tonight, so I'll be brawling online more often now. On that same note, why won't you die, Identity Crisis?

Try leaving your Wii on standby all the time and see if things improve. I've noticed that my Wii has always seemed to have a difficult time loading things and especially connecting to the internet if it's been turned all the way off. It's like the system has to warm up first, since things work fine after it's been on for a little while. So far my only issue with Brawl has been the Wii freezing up between the main channel page and trying to load the game with irritating frequency.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Clans sound like a great idea, whether we pick or draw. If we pick, I'm bribing Identity Crisis. That man was a monster the other night.

As for items, the only ones I'd kind of like to see gone are hearts and the Dragoon. The latter can add a lot of fun trying to collect all three pieces, but sometimes it's just a cheap kill.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Even if you're lucky enough to see someone online, chances are they won't notice if you set up a game since Nintendo had the foresight to have no alerts or anything if a friend signs on. Contacting them via AIM/PM/post is pretty much the only option.

I still play it with a few others on the weekends. There's no point to just sitting around online waiting for someone else to get on, so I only do wi-fi battles if someone asks me. I'm usually up for it unless I'm already doing something else.

How ya doing, buddy?

Sounds good to me, as long as people who sign up don't drop out as soon as their first match comes up. That seems to happen way too often with every tournament we try to do around GFF these days.

Yeah, that's what I meant IC. I think most people should be done with classes in about 4 weeks though, so this could be a good time to get sign-ups started. Hopefully people will have time to actually keep commitments over Winter break.

As for restrictions, as long as you don't start banning characters I've got no problems. I wouldn't mind seeing Smash Balls banned in a tourney setting, but it's okay if they're left in.

Why are Bridge of Eldin and Shadow Moses Island always banned? The bridge is the flat and the most that happens is the stage being divided in half. It's the very definition of calm. Nothing at all happens on Shadow Moses. I'm not arguing necessarily, just wondering what the rationale is there.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

You're really overusing the word "tourneyfag" here, Gargo. I agree it's annoying when someone continuously picks the same 1-2 characters every time and have no variety in their stages (I'm looking at you, Animal Crossing), but I find most matches between 2+ good players tend to last around 7-8 minutes. Usually less if it's only two people, but hitting sudden death at the 8 minute mark isn't uncommon at all with 3-4. As long as people aren't rushing straight into attacks it can take awhile to rack up enough damage.
