I'm looking forward to Startropics too. I remember seeing it stores all the time and thinking "Hey, that looks like a pretty cool game." Never bought it.

Then again, I used to think the same thing whenever I saw Lord of the Rings for SNES on store shelves, so perhaps it's good that I didn't always follow up on that.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Who are you even talking to, Lukage? I mean, usually that comment would be applicable here at any time, but for once no one's complaining about the releases. It's either Pokemon Snap <3 or Startropics <3 and I'm pretty sure more than 5% of us have heard of those.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Quoting posts might be helpful when responding to things that old, yeah. As for my mockery of DOUBLE DRIBBLE, I was just amused by it being in all caps. I dislike most sports games* so my word on the actual gameplay means nothing.

*Ice Hockey for the NES and Blades of Steel get a pass for awesomeness

Again, you fail miserably for declaring this week horrible without ever playing Blades of Steel, Lix. As a general rule, I hate 97% of sports games ever made. Blades of Steel is awesome though, and must be purchased immediately. A hockey game mixed with a fighting game? Pure win.

For whatever reason, I would always play as Edmonton.

<3 this game so much.
What a coincidence. I beat Nutty 15-5 while playing as Edmonton last night.

Also we learned that when a new game comes out (Metroid, Mario, etc.) on the Wii, they don't link the concept to a VC release, so don't count on the N64 game being available.
That's not really true at all. When Metroid Prime 3 was released they declared Metroid month with the first monday releasing Metroid on the VC, Super Metroid the next week, and then Prime 3 coming out the following week. So they link it sometimes.

It's going to be incredibly lame if Earthbound isn't one of the masterpiece demos in Brawl. You can't claim a feature is to familiarize people with the games the characters are from and then not have one for Ness, considering how few people knew him before Smash Bros.

How interesting! I might buy it, depending on whether my Earthbound cartridge's battery has died (I'm still in Magicant after several years) and how bad it looks on my HDTV. I keep meaning to finish it, but just never seem to get around to it.

Now that we've got this and Actraiser we're so close to having Nick Arcade: The Home Version.

Nice how they bumped Ys I & II up to 800 points since it's 2 games. Still, I might have to get that one. I just recently got around to playing through Ys VI, and more Adol is never a bad thing.

Oh, I didn't notice it was different from the other Turbografx games that were only 600 points.

So still no Ys? Oh well, at least there's StrongBad's Cool Game For Attractive People coming out soon on WiiWare.

I thought it was supposed to, but I haven't had access to my Wii all day so I couldn't confirm.

If you hurry, Wii Points cards are $12 at Toys R Us today. Yesterday too if you have a time machine! =D

I picked up World of Goo, and it's quite a bit of fun so far. Basically, you erect towers by connecting the gooballs and try to reach the pipe with enough goos remaining to meet the level goal. It's interesting compensating for gravity and building around obstacles like cogs that pop your goos. The $15 cost is a bit pricey, but apparently it was made mostly by 2 guys like Braid.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

I picked up two yesterday, but I wish I'd grabbed three. I forgot about VC Secret Santa coming up, and I used up one card already for World of Goo and Fantasy Zone today. Thinking about getting Shining Force 2 too.

Yeah, they only had 7-8 cards at mine when I went at opening yesterday and I bought 2 of those. There weren't any signs up saying they were 40% off, but it would've only taken a few other people who knew about the sale to exhaust their supply.

How ya doing, buddy?

Hey guys, I promised Nutty that if Tetris Party ever came out on WiiWare I would buy it, but I don't want to spend any money now. It'll be 2011 before I get around to buying this great title unless someone would like to gift it to me.

Spoiler:
Nothing great this week, so I'll drop some of my remaining points on Shining Force 2 after all. Tetris Party would be tempting if I had a balance board and it wasn't $12, but unfortunately both of those are true. Bowie has defeated Tetris once again.

Anyone who doesn't already own MM3 on NES or the Anniversary Collection and doesn't buy this is dead to me. It's as simple as that.

Speaking of Shadows of the Empire, when are you planning to start up the thread for VC Secret Santa, Nutty? It should be about that time, or are you still waiting to do the test run with Skills to see if Canada fails?

Does anyone know if Onslaught is supposed to be any good? Gamespot had a few screenshots showing it to be an FPS, but all the places I go to for reviews seem to have more or less abandoned their Wiiware/VC review sections.

Yeah, if we could just get some decent memory storage then I'd download several WiiWare games. I don't want to delete my VC stuff just so I can play the next Strongbad title, and it would be nice to actually use the Nintendo channel for once.

Gradius Rebirth sounds like it has possibilities, but I can't seem to find any sort of coverage except for a single image.

I was looking over screenshots for FF IV: The After Years today, and I have to take back what I said on GFF Talk Radio. I'm still nervous about how it'll turn out, but it looks snazzy enough that I'll still buy it almost immediately. Damn you Squeenix, playing off my nostalgia to make me a consumer whore!

The Super Star Wars games were all pretty evil, yeah. Plus the first one was probably the worst one, aside from the level where you hunt down Jawas in your landspeeder. Empire and Return of the Jedi were both at least kind of fun.

No Lost Winds 2? Europe got that last week, and it's the first WiiWare game in ages I'd actually be eager for.
