Waterfall WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW
2 points: Battle Fanfare 2 points: Waterfall 1 point: Road Hog 1 point: Dreams of Cobalt Just missed: STEP ON BEAT [Original], Foreboding Desert Temple, Woods and Angels (wow this does look nicer with bold font) I've recently been playing the Advance Wars games (all of them), and in doing so I've solved one of the 7 mysteries of the Intelligent Systems sound team. Taishi Senda, who is not Hirano, is responsible for the first game's soundtrack, which is mostly... not good. Even though Hirano took the helm for AW2 onwards, all the recurring characters retained their themes from the first game pretty much exact. So glad to know that Hirano isn't responsible for the themes in AWDS (and AW2) that I weren't fond of at all. So yeah, there is some awesome music before DoR, a ton of it in fact. As an apology to Hirano, here's Battle Fanfare ![]() Okay, this week. Yet another Fantastic week, as if we haven't had enough of them (don't stop) Dreams of Cobalt reminds me very heavily of Red Faction 1&2 music, especially the synths and the way the drum loops are handled. Great tune. Road Hog is real. Also it made me revisit Cruise Control from the same soundtrack nominated earlier in SOTw. loveeeeeeee The trills in Foreboding Desert Temple were hilarious for some reason. Good tune, very nice melody, some decent fake jazzy piano work too. Step on Beat had a ton of substance, and a funky bass line through all of it. Nice. Woods and Angels developed real well. Melody was generic fantasy-genre fluff, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy it. Cause I did, a whole lot. Hey it's Tacit Understanding (Gonna try to have more substantial posts for SOTW, after the BSC adrenaline rush. This promise will be broken next week) EDIT: (This post looks nicer if you shrink the browser ![]() Jam it back in, in the dark. |
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
