I don't think that it's a mistake with the MotorStorm price because when I bought Virtua Fighter 5 it was $59.99 also, it is $69.99 everywhere else. FutureShop is just doing some massive/kickass PS3 promotion I guess ^^
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Perhaps since it's somewhat similar to God of War. Resistance and MotorStorm are killer-aps in my opinion, but due to the limited audience right now it has kind of undercut their success a bit. Everything should kick into gear though 03/23
How ya doing, buddy? |
It's just the European launch which is pratically half of the world's market so the games that we've had since November will get a second chance later this month. Also Sony is moving into full swing with everything that they're doing and are starting to get things together and out the door. Ex Demos, Trailers, new PSN, and possibly PS HOME
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
A new IGN hands-on with Warhawk aryicle.
http://ps3.ign.com/articles/770/770561p1.html There's a lot of information, however I can see where dropping the single player mode has definatly beefed up the online mode. All I can say is that this is going to be one hell of a game for clans, and the best combat flying game since Crimson Skies on the original X-box. I was speaking idiomatically. |
Holy crap, Sony definatly blew the Mii channel away for me. Friend chatting, billiards, home customization, character customization. This is pratically a game on it's own. Man I can't wait for fall now. And if they pull this off I'd say that this is probably better then X-box LIVE too. (for 90% of the world doesn't get all the video marketplace stuff like the US so MS deserves to lose their online crown just for neglagence)
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
Does anyone know at about what time the PSN updates usually take place? There should be a large system update along with a new version of the Store packed with new demos and trailers. Anyone know?

Thoes R&C screens look freak'n amazing!!!
As for the update Inhert it should be today according to the announcement. "Firmware update available on the 8th for North America/Japan and Asia. European PS3's will be preloaded with this latest update." "New content on PS Store available on the 8th: Tekken 6 trailer Lair demo & trailer Rainbow Six Vegas demo EA: Skate trailer Battlefield Bad Company trailer Warhawk demo Virtua Fighter 5 demo Virtua Tennis 3 demo & trailer GRAW 2: trailer Mortal Kombat 2 game Killzone trailer" To all whom have MotorStorm: If you're interested in playing online send me a message and we'll set something up. PSN Account is ChaosLegionaire What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
Well at E3 you're going to see a LOT of games being demoed for the first time, and a lot of games that have already been demoed being playable at the show. Games like Killzone, LAIR, MGS4, DMC4 should all be there as playable. Games like FFXIII and I'm not sure what all else should have extended trailers. Then finally you're probably going to see a lot of games coming out of the closet for the first time of course too.
Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Man, with this intense gameplay and what not clans are going to eat Warhawk right up man. Which is awesome because I'm part of one, BOO-YA!!!
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
If you have to buy the game via retail, then yes it will be free to play online. It's not an MMORPG that requires constant updates and maintnence.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Don't know how pratical it is, but we might as well put our computing power to use while we wait for KILLZONE 2 to come out and use all the PS3's power on it's own.
Article: http://www.gamespot.com/news/6167492...ewstop;title;2 In short with the PS3 frimware update 1.6 due out at the end of march, amongst other upgrades, the system will have a new feature called folding@HOME. Basically what this is is takes a semi-old idea of networking idle PCs over the net and use them to help process information for a specific cause simply because no single supercomputer can do the entire process on it's own. While this may not be as big as PS HOME or LBP, pardon the cliche but, "It's one small step for gaming, but one giant leap for the common good". At least if Sony dies now, they won't be going to hell anytime soon. TAKE THAT BILL GATES!!!!! Hell's got your usual suite all ready for your descent, Mwahahahahaha... How ya doing, buddy? |
I can't comment on the Ace Combat but I can say with some confidence that you will see Katamari on the PS3 also, simply because Sony owns 49% of Namco so... common. No I can't say that 100% for sure, but yeah.
Secondly without an official announcement of these games existance I highly dought that any of that information is even reliable, if not just total speculation in itself. However, you know that they didn't pull the games out of thin air and despite conflict of details, it's for certain that these games must be on their ways for debut and soon. Most amazing jew boots |
Well sure it suck for Sony to be losing exclusive titles, however it doesn't really affect me. So many people whether it be the "Sony guys" going "Damn, there goes another", or the "360 guys" going "HA! you lost another title" they all get too wound up in something that doesn't even affect them. Unless one owns stock of a said company WHO CARES?!?! When titles start switching from PS3 to EXCLUSIVELY on the 360 THEN I'll care. AC6 and MH3 are two games you mentioned that you think this will happen with. AC6 is possible, it could go either way. Monster Hunter 3 on the other hand, seeing how it's biggest in Japan where the PS3 outsells the 360 just over 2/1 I don't think it will be 360 exclusive. Perhaps multi-platform, however once again, unless one owns stock there's nothing bad as far as a consumer is concerned.
As for myself I have a 360 and PS3 for a reason. That way I can play ALL exclusives and the source copy of multi-platform games. Ex; Armored Core 4 -X360 DMC4 -PS3 ...etc because from experiance about 70% of simultanious ports SUCK. Or 90% Wii ports by Ubisoft I don't know why 360 fans are so happy over the DMC4 thing and why Sony fans are so down because BOTH now get to enjoy the game, and BOTH have just as many exclusives to them this year alone. Thanks for the Namco info, I obviously wasn't 100% on the details. Playstation 3 Exclusive Titles: -Afrika (Confirmed) -Angel Rings (Published by Sony) -Eight days (SCE) -EyeDentify (Published by Sony) -Fifth Phantom Saga (Confirmation) -Final Fantasy XIII (Confirmed) -Final Fantasy Versus XIII (Confirmed) -Formula One (Published by Sony) -Full Auto 2: Battlelines (Confirmation) -Genji: Days of the Blade (Confirmation) -God of War 3 -Gradius (Confirmation -> Cancelled) -Grand Turismo 5 (Published by Sony) -Grand Turismo HD (Published by Sony) -Gretzky NHL (Published by Sony) -Heavenly Sword (Published by Sony) -Hot Shots Golf 5 (Published by Sony) -Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier (Published by Sony) -Killzone 3 (SCE) -Lair (Confirmation) -Little Big Planet (Confirmation) -Metal Gear Solid 4 (Confirmation) -Mobile Suit Gundam: Gundam World (Confirmed) -Monster Hunter 3 (Confirmation) -Monster Kingdom (Published by Sony) -Motor Storm (Published by Sony) -My Singstar (Published by Sony) -Ninja Gaiden Sigma (Confirmation) -Ni-Oh (Information) -Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction (Published by Sony) -Redwood Falls (Information) -Resistance: Fall of Man (Confirmation) -Ridge Racer 7 (Confirmation) -Shin Megami Tensei (Confirmation) -Tekken 6 (Confirmed) -The Eye of Judgment (SCE) -The Getaway (SCE) -Uncharted: Drake's Fortune(SCE) -Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom (SCE) -WarDevil Enigma (Confirmation) -Warhawk (Published by Sony) -White Knight Story -Wipeout (Confirmation) -Wizardry (Information) Most amazing jew boots |
(ip): That's funny because EVERY market examinar IN THE WORLD would disagree with you. As a matter of fact, every examiner sais that the 360 will be on the bottom. That doesn't mean that it will do bad, but it remains to be seen for the 360 to have any strenght outside of North America. It's a joke in Japan and the PS3 preorders in Europe seem to be quite promissing. I don't claim to know the future, however there's a lot of people who would have to disagree with you on that statement.
Skills: No prob man. PSWii60 ALL THE WAY!!! Gamer for LIFE!!! FELIPE NO |
Just wanted to post here that in the firmware 1.6 update that on top of the folding@HOME that there will also be a background downloading feature added. Current games will pause your (up to 6 queable downloads) when you play them and resume download when on the XMB, while future games will have download control. Most likely meaning to continue downloading while playing a game and pause when you go to play online.
What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
In general that's the idea, however I believe that there will be games that will let you choose the server you want to play on. Motorstorm looks like it will probably have this feature, and I know that Metal Gear Subsistance allowed you to choose your server too.
Jam it back in, in the dark. |
While the BC on the PS3 is nice and all, after my run in with the 360 and it's BC support I realized that I would not be able to trust BC suport for future systems without evidence of functionality. I still use the PS3 for my PS2 games, but I'm glad I played things safe and kept my PS2 around for PS1 games and Guitar Hero. Too bad others didn't come to think along the same lines for thoes who still plan on playing a lot of PS1 games and Guitar Hero (and the few glitchy PS2 games). Hind sight 20/20 I suppose, wait and pick up a PS2 for like $20 in a year for you guys I suppose.

Like MGS4[PS3, unknown 360 stance] and VF5[PS3, late 360 release], even if the games go multi-platform it'll take about a year to make it so, so late into the project. These types of multi-platform moves doesn't seem to matter to the public as much (as for "console wars") as say same time multi-platform releases. This is based on that no one seemed to kick up a big stink when the 360 lost Oblivion, Enchanted Arms, Saint's Row, and I don't know what else. But they all are coming out about a year after their 360 releases. Main point is that without anything already announced, multi-platform content after a year only matters to thoes with X-system and not Y, which is how people should take news like DMC4 and other multi-platform moves instead of using it as ammunition for their fanboyish-guns, especially when they're not even interested in the said game.
NEWS!!! V1.6 update now available. Only took me about 4minutes for download. ![]() Start running... NOW!!!!! This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Square has always been loyal to the companies they make titles for, and have yet to jump ship on a console after making their choice for flsgship system. That said they also choose their flagship system based on hardware potential and Japanese market share (i.e. jump from N64 FFVI remake to PS1 with FFVII). Seeing how the PS3 have both of thoes locked down, I think it's safe to say that SE will keep the main titles on the PS3.
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
This is total speculation but Sony is calling the PS@HOME and LBP parts of their gaming 3.0 plans. So is that just their project name, or is that firmware 3.0 and there's going to be a big 2.0 update in between?
Secondly I can't get the folding@HOME to connect to the server. Is there something I need to set? Finally if it's possible to set up teams, perhaps we could get a GFF folding team going. I was speaking idiomatically. |
Kind of yes. But since this is the same with all wireless connections I guess I can't really complain, seeing how I knew what to expect. The update downloads are the worst though, game demos of the same size tend to download quicker then the updates so I don't get it.
IMPORTANT For thoes who are helping with the folding@HOME project please check out my thread in Sony Scape. P.S. If someone could also make the folding@HOME thread and "important" one too, that would be GREAT! What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
This is true, however the Japanese unlike North Americans have a larger sense of loyalty and honor, even when it comes to business. I'm sure if MS does try to secure FFXIII that it won't be the first time that Square has dealt with the (FFXI). MS has already tried to buy Nintendo and Capcom, despite the large amounts of money so I don't think we need to worry about SE too much.

The PS3 version if perfect. It is the game with some of the extra content and the Nights of the Nyne expansion. It has improved loading times and performance. Further draw distance. Improved textures. If you've beaten one of the other versions there's not much reason to get it for the PS3. However I had it for the 360 and I couldn't play it because of the stuttering performance, so I just waited for the PS3 version. I'm glad I did.
What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
That's not true. Bethesda that they will have downloadable content, they just don't know when or how yet.
Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Whatever. Multiplatform or not, I always get the source version of a game, unless they actually take the time to make the port as good or better then the source (ie. Oblivion -PS3). It may be selfish to some, but when it comes to games all I really care about is MY experiance and that popularity stuff can go to hell. However I never let facts be mixed with conjection and that's been happening a lot lately with people and the PS3.
I just wanted to post this up for you Inhert and for others who are interested. GameTrailers just posted their 360 VS PS3 comparison for Oblivion which you can either look at it as a VS or simply for improvements, doesn't matter. Noticable parts are people in general, draw distance details, and X360 object spawning in plain sight. Unfortunatly they don't stick with any one scene to show the stuttering of the 360 area loading and the near nonexistance of the PS3's. However we know they're there, that's all that matters.
