I liked it quite a bit, but, yeah, I agree, I could have done without the Jodie Foster character. I wish they had found a different way to make me care about what was in the safety deposit box.
I like Spike Lee, though, and this movie, from the setting to the style, had his technique all over it. I wouldn't buy the DVD or anything, but as far as heist movies go (one of my favorite genres), it is probably one of the best of the last decade. I think I'd only put Ocean's Eleven and The Score above it. Jam it back in, in the dark.
