Suda 51 showed off a new trailer at GDC. Not a ton of new stuff, but you get a pretty good idea of how the game plays.
New assassin revealed, by the name of Destroy Man-- basically, a guy in a superhero suit who shoots energy beams out of his crotch. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

For some reason, I can't see this game being average. It's either going to be immense amounts of awesome or absolutely terrible.

It's about time to bump this, as the game's about to come out in Japan and Famitsu scored it recently.
The official website has some new videos that show off combat a bit more extensively (check out "Travis Action"). "I'll kick you in the nuts!" What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |

No, that's when it comes out in Japan. Unless you're in Japan, in which case yes, it will be tomorrow.

I wouldn't be surprised if they changed the North American boxart too, since it could pretty easily give the wrong impression about the gameplay.

Poor Suda. I would've been there.
 The game will sell far more in North America. Definitely not one of those one million in a week type of games, but I think it should at least hit 50k in its first week. I'm hoping for a sleeper hit that sells 100k or so, but I would seriously doubt it. Not with the Wii userbase and demographic. All in all, I echo the "Japan can go to hell" sentiment. Scorn a bad game-- not an awesome third-party title for the Wii. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

It's not bad, but it's certainly nowhere near the best out there. You forgive some of the shortcomings graphically because of the stylistic choices.

I wouldn't say it's as bad as GTA 3-- those games had a serious problem with joining limbs to a person's torso. At least the people in No More Heroes look like full human beings.
Anyway, we forgive the game's graphical shortcoming's because of the great character designs and the fact that Travis Touchdown is the best new protagonist in a video game in the past five years. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
