No More Queermos

EDIT: HELL YEAH! That site now has a high quality avi Divx version for download! Looks UNBELIEVABLE!

EDIT 2: hmm, seems the site has taken down the story, perhaps they weren't supposed to put it up yet? Suda DID say we'd get Heroes info at the end of July though.

Here's the youtube link anyway

Killer 7 fans REJOICE! This looks AMAZING! The style seems a bit more generic anime-like to me, but it still looks awesome enough, and there's probably a long time 'til release. I have a new most anticipated Wii game. I'm basing all of my excitement just on how awesome Killer 7 is, and how this seems almost like a sequel to it. We can't really tell what the gameplay will be like from the video, hopefully it stays simple like Killer 7, could be a nice game to play just using the Wii remote alone.

surasshu Jul 22, 2006 12:17 AM

Bloody flippin' ecker!

That was exciting. If the game is even half as good as that trailer it'll be a Wii-seller by itself. Love the music too.

It's unclear to me also what the gameplay will be like, but it looks kinda like a fighting game on crack? If so, that should work just fine for me. Then again, Killer7 was hardly the best gameplay ever imaginable, its aweso...misity... yeah, was based on other things.

Infernal Monkey Jul 22, 2006 01:02 AM

Killer 7 style, Lightsabers, Megaman, comically bad voice acting, this is going to be awesome. <3

Angry Chicken Jul 22, 2006 04:10 AM

Woah, That looks nice. I'll look for some other screenshots. If i ever got a Wii, then i would buy this.

Kimchi Jul 22, 2006 08:50 AM

Wow, this game sure got my attention. Looks amazing. This game is going to be on my Wii list.

Rock Jul 22, 2006 09:09 AM

This game is better not anything like Killer 7, because that was one of the most boring games I've played in a while. Trailer looks good, although it's not revealing a lot about the game itself.

Forsakenzoul Jul 22, 2006 12:20 PM

Looks sweet ^^ cant wait

Eleo Jul 22, 2006 12:30 PM

It seems like the voice acting is supposed to suck ass. Am I correct here?

KazeJiyuu Jul 22, 2006 12:56 PM

The game looks funny, especially because of the VA. And I wonder if you can choose between those two to be the top mercenary or something.

I don't know. It really sucks, intentional or not... It's not really annoying me, though, so I guess it's alright.

Thats generally the feeling I got watching it.

I just hope that the gameplay lives up to the hype the teaser has injected directly into my brain.

The voice acting is just :tpg:

The music is kickass though. Yet another great looking Wii game! Can't wait!

FatsDomino Jul 22, 2006 04:14 PM

I hope they only talk during cutscenes because if they start speaking during gameplay I'll always fail from laughing too much. What terrible voice acting! ='D

NES Oldskooler Jul 22, 2006 04:29 PM

So are the graphics in-game going to look like that? If so, I'm not sure why the Wii's hardware is being downplayed so much, because that looks great.

I agree with Rock that the gameplay had better be more interesting than Killer 7, though.

guyinrubbersuit Jul 22, 2006 06:12 PM

Meh. Doesn't look special at all. Graphics are neat, but man the voice acting is horrible (intentional or not it's distracting) and the action is typical anime flair. I'll wait for reviews on this one.

Helloween Jul 22, 2006 06:17 PM

This game has me excited as hell. I'm going to buy it, seeing as how it's reached that special stage of excitment for me, in that i will keep thinking about it until it reaches a level of perfection in my mind, then it will be completley different than i imagined. Hopefully, it'll be better than what i imagine.

I guess i need to play Killer 7.

Solis Jul 22, 2006 07:42 PM

Looks pretty much the same as Killer 7 to me, except a bit shinier and with...lightsabers? Meh, I'll wait for it to hit the budget bin before I pick it up, wasn't really a big fan of Killer 7 and this doesn't look all that different.

But yes, the voice acting is hilarious, I'm guessing they're just temp voices (the E3 2004 Star Fox Assault voices still make me chuckle).

Wall Feces Jul 22, 2006 09:26 PM

WOW. Watching that just made me say the same thing I said when I first saw the Killer7 trailer.

"I don't care how it plays, I want it."

If this is anything like Killer7, I'm in for a huge treat, since that was my favorite game of last year. And what about that music?! My god, this thing screams coolness!

omglasplagas Jul 27, 2006 10:10 PM

Am I the only one who thinks like this is going to a be a Hybrid of K7 and ... Metroid Hunters?

Duking it out to be the top Hitman. Could have interesting Online components?

While it is absolutely true that the Wii will be capable of great-looking graphics (hey, so was the Gamecube), there is a good reason for that: no HD. HD isn't the revolution that Microsoft and Sony are hoping it is, but it does make a difference.

Not like I care, because I play my games on a TV from 1976 that doesn't support anything. But, you know, just sayin'...

But I agree--these graphics look sweet. Mario Galaxy is sweet-lookin' too, so I am certainly not worried that I'll feel like I'm looking at a past-generation system. (I suppose we don't know for sure if this is in-game graphics footage, but Killer 7 looked a lot like this...)

Malmer Jul 28, 2006 05:47 AM

Looks pretty neat, I like the style a lot! Though I never got into Killer 7 (I was pretty spooked by some trailer and that sick laughing - more than any horror game ever has).

But wow I hate the voices - this reeks of geeks doing those shrill voices themselves...
Reminds me Guild Wars Factions, where this old key-person has this annoying thin geeky voice (with futile attempt to make it deeper). EW!

J-Man Jul 28, 2006 01:35 PM

That music is the best I've heard in a while. It's like slightly more melodic Metroid Prime music. The graphics and laughable cutscenes wrap up the package nicely too. That giant rocket attack wasnt bad either

dhsu87 Jul 28, 2006 03:10 PM

wow. this game looks so sick. is there a term for the art direction. it's not really cel-shading but it's got that awesome comic/dark-cartoon batman artistic flair.
stylish....

chaofan Jul 29, 2006 09:06 AM

The first link Grubdog posted has been taken off (cause they weren't supposed to release the trailer yet) so thank god for youtube.

This game is look amazing and hopefully the story will be as eccentric as Killer7. The art direction is very Suda 51 and hopefully Heroes will use the Wii controller well. The music is very well accomplished, setting up the mood and complementing the art direction that is being taken.

And to agree with everyone else, the voice acting is horrid. Well, Sylvia and Helter's VAs are okay as they sound B-grade enough, but Travis?!!?!!! "WHAT? YOU WANT ME TO THANK YOOOU????"

Well excuuuuse me princess!

Hybrid Hunter Jul 31, 2006 03:38 AM

Man, that trailer looks awesome.
I really have to go play Killer 7 (even though there isn't a connection between these two games).
