I don't fucking like the people who do that. That really, really pisses me off that people do that sorta thing. Wouldn't you be extremely pissed off to be, say #11 in line, and the 10th guy got the last one only to sell it on eBay for a 300% mark-up? I'd beat his ass and steal his PS3. Hell, if he told me about it before he got his, I'd beat his ass and steal his spot in line!

Still, it aggravates me to no end to see people do that. It's under-handed and highway robbery. After Hurricane Katrina, police stations were shutting down gas stations who were doing what's known as "price gouging." This is the same thing -- buying up a limited supply of something and selling it back at an exhaustingly high price. And it's wrong. I was speaking idiomatically. That's still price gouging though Muck. Even if consumers are willing to pay that price, you're knowingly over-charging them for it (if you yourself are reselling PS3s. If not, consider "you" a general statement). And I still don't like that, either way you slice it. We'll agree to disagree for argument's sake though, since this is an entirely subjective discussion.
In other news, even though all the PS3 reserves went out, nobody preordered any games. There were, though, four accessories we could've preordered, one of which was a wireless Logitech controller for $40.What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? Did you just wake up after a month-long coma? Every EB/GS store in America sold out of pre-orders day one. And if it's $60 a game for the 360, what makes you think software sales will be any worse for the PS3? They're charging the same amount, you know.
The 360 can't techincally be considered a success yet, because it hasn't had any next-gen competition. I've heard earlier reports of people commenting on how lightweight the Sixaxis is, but never to such an extent that it would fly out of your hands during gameplay. That IGN UK article has been the first one I've heard of to give the controller a negative review. I'm sure there are others, though.

His reviews clash with what I read in EGM this month (with Gears on the cover). They've said that numerous games are using the tilt sensor. Genji'll use the controller to perform a dodge, for example. They've also got Blazing Angels (pitch and yaw control), Marvel Ultimate Alliance ("be super" whatever the hell that is), Untold Legends (evade) and Motorstorm (steering) reported to use the tilt sensor.

Huh. So now the only difference between the price tags is internal WiFi and a flash card reader. Oh, and a more shiny system. Glad I pre-ordered the $500 version.

Heh, just from the screenshots, flOw and Blast Factory look awfully similar to Electroplankton and Geometry Wars, respectively.
Glad to see Sony's taking that cue from the 360's Live service though. That was one thing I liked about the 360. Now, let's see some Guilty Gear/Darkstalkers/other 2D fighter that isn't Street Fighter. Ooh damn, they should put Marvel vs. Capcom 2 on their download service. How ya doing, buddy? I'm kinda disappointed Sony's raising the price of the Sixaxis controller to match the 360's wireless price. Earlier in this thread the price was said to be roughly $40 worht of Yen. Damnit. That was a big kick in the face to the 360's $50 wireless controller, too.
Glad the memory card adapter's still cheap though. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? HDD caching is something that Namco Bandai did right with Tekken: Dark Resurrection for the PSP, if I'm not mistaken. You still need the UMD, but it caches to the memory stick and has virtually no load times.
That's a great feature for the PS3 though, and certainly incentive to find a cheap 80GB or so that'll fit the PS3. I was speaking idiomatically. Have their been any reports of someone swapping the hard drives for a bigger capacity, third-party unit yet? IGN said they were working on it, but have yet to actually do it.
It seems easy enough to open the system from those pics, so I assume Sony won't put that "Void if Removed" sticker on it like they had on the PS2. How ya doing, buddy? Quite frankly, I don't think too many people are gonna be disappointed with the XMB (?) interface, so it's easy, user-friendly, and functional. Plus, it doesn't have "the blades." Spoiler:
I reserved the $500 PS3 as well, Soldier, but then again taking a console online isn't a huge thing for me. I'll eventually do it, and when that time comes I'll buy the wireless network adapter for it. Until then, it's offline gaming for me. Jam it back in, in the dark. Well I guess what pisses me off the most is the lack of "employee benefit." They already put restrictions on how many employees could pre-order -- only two per store, thank God I'm an assistant manager -- and now we can't even get ours.
Employees don't get discounts on new systems, so in truth I'm no different from a customer, save for the fact that I can only buy from my boss (he's the only one with the authority in the store that I can buy games from. Company rule.) so I wouldn't even be able to get it straight when it comes in. I'd likely be the last person to get one. So really it's like, "why do I work here again? I thought it was for the perks." Lame. How ya doing, buddy? Has anyone encountered an audio feedback problem with their PS3? I've got the 20GB version and I'm using the standard AV cables. I don't have an HDTV yet.
Anyway, I tried swapping the PS2's cables, still got the problem. Swapped inputs on the TV (from "Front" to AV1 and then AV2) and still got the feedback. I think it's a problem with the AV output on the system, but I wanna make sure. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? I'm not sure they even make an RF adapter. I haven't seen one at my store at least. I have seen the HDMI cables, which are running a cool $80.
Speaking of accessories, has anyone picked up that Logitech "ChillStream" controller? I thought it about it, since it's $10 cheaper than the Sixaxis, but I haven't made up my mind yet. Personally, I'm having a ton of fun with Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom. Granted, it's standard hack n' slash material, but hey it looks good.
Genji's pretty damn fun too, and would be so much more fun if it weren't for some questionable camera angles. Still, all in all it's pretty cool. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? I forget when Zone of the Enders came out, but I think it was still inside the PS2's launch "window." It was a pretty good game all things considered.
I, too, had Orphen: Scion of Sorcery. I got rid of it though. :/ Almost wish I still had it. So we got the PS/PS2 Memory Card adapter in today, retailing for $14.99. Anyone heard anything about the PS/PS2 Controller adapter they're supposed to release? Kinda would've thought that'd be a launch accessory.

With all the negative press surrounding the concept for GT HD, I'm not all that surprised. I mean seriously, who the fuck is gonna pay any amount of money to stock cars, tracks, and parts that should otherwise exist.
Granted, I'm a decently sized Sony fan. I like the machine and I like the potential and the games it has and will bring. But Gran Turismo HD was a dumbass concept and a bad attempt at spurring on the microtransaction phenomenon. So Inhert, this is actually quite good news. There's nowhere I can't reach. Here's what I'd like to know -- how are people playing these games? Sounds like a stupid question, but the games I've tried on my PS3 always ask me to plug up a PS2 controller first.
WolfDemon, you're aware that Nintendo's first Wii update caused some of their systems to brick, aren't you? Nintendo's not without their launch kinks either. I seem to recall a few hinges breaking on the DS Lite I believe shortly after its launch. Kairi, why is it that someone who buys a system at launch is ignorant or gullible? Not everyone's having problems with their PS3s, such as myself. And I think you misunderstand what it means to launch a system. If they kept delaying it just to test every single game they've already got, the system wouldn't be out until 2010. When testing a system, you can't just go through some checklist to get every bug. It's gonna take some random coincidences to find them all. Honestly, the PS3's come off their launch relatively stable. So what, 200 games out of 8,000 aren't backwards compatible. Is that such a bad thing?
