I finished it a week or so ago, and I enjoyed it. The presentation and humor was really great. I didn't feel the need to go back to it though. The boss fights were so memorable that I felt like once was enough, but they were pretty tremendous fights. It felt a bit like Shadow of the Colossus in that sense.
I'd have been happy with 15 or 20 boss fights, rather than the chores in between ranked battles. The jobs and killing missions were ok, but they slowed the game down a bit too much for me. I thought Travis was a very cool character - the most memorable/likable new character since playing as Raz in Psychonauts. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
The graphics reminded me a little of GTA on PS2. But the weakness in the graphics are strongly countered by the voice acting, the humour and motion capture. (I’m guessing they both used motion capture, but hell if I know really.)
But yeah, it does look a bit crud for a Wii game. Ridge Racer 4 actually looks better in that shot. =o There's nowhere I can't reach. |
