The new FW in the PSP Slim will be broken eventually. There's already a custom FW for 3.51. O_o

It's an enterily different issue, though, if they use hardware upgrades to block custom firmware instead of just upgrading the software. Although I'm pretty sure it'll eventually be cracked on the new PSP as well, I'm not sure about it being cracked using ONLY software. It might need some kind of counter hardware, like a chip, attached to it first in order to crack or bypass the original firmware.
If they do, however, find an exploit that makes it possible to add custom firmware using only software cracks, then I just might consider getting on the slimmer train myself.
