Good God do I hate Doomsday Scenarios

It's happening time and time again lately.

Every piece of bad news that affects a super-wide variety of people (like the US, Global economy, or the world even) many report the bad news and the oncoming downturn of the economy/the status of the world or some such.

Take for example the rising gas prices coupled with the fall of the dollar. Many news outlets are talking about this, but not a damn word on what to do about it. Many news articles on Global warming don't even mention a simple "do your part to slow it down, don't waste resources, etc." most of the time!

I find the bigger threat not of the bad news but the effect it will have on the populace as a whole. FOR THE LOVE OF CHAOS, IF YOU'RE GOING TO PREDICT DOOMSDAY SCENARIOS, DON'T SIT ON YOUR ASSES AND TELL THE WORLD WE'RE ALL DOOMED, LET US FUCKING DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

What I meant was don't just broadcast the bad news, tell us what we need to circumvent/prevent/soften the blow.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

I should've known.

I figured Global Warming was kind of a natural trend and likely Isn't Our Fault, but isn't fearmongering the REAL reason why our economy screws up? The stock market dips because of things like that. If the media wants to fearmonger, shouldn't they do something that WON'T screw them over in the long run?

...bleh.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
