I have an opinion As a general rule, posters in public forums (Google indexes it, lol) do not mind their links being shared. In fact, sharing beyond the forum is the only way to keep links alive... otherwise, the inactive period of the host server passes and they get deleted. And the uploader might have to up them again. Second, guys post comic links coz its all about sharing. They may not know U but they want U to enjoy it too. And, hopefully, U will reciprocate and allow them to enjoy what U have. In other words, if U take something from a forum... leave something behind with the forum. Don't just leech. Third, the "don't steal links" demand is mostly made by the board rulers, not the people who post the links. The bosses want the links to stay there and so attract new members to them. Those same chiefs fully expect their members to leech other boards to death. Its not a good policy coz its both unfair and selfish. Some uploaders rely on their links spreading as widely as possible coz they depend on download quantity to gain a free account on the host server each month - - eg, Rapidshare: get 10,000 downloads from your R/S folders this month and they give U a free premium account next month. So, bean counting can matter too. Hmmmmm. There's several other points that can be made but... no matter. My problem here is that I can't get a fix on where its ok to post links. I'll work it out but for the moment its confusion. re: masking the URLs with "xx" in the HLQ Are [ c o d e ] tags available here? If yes, they forve the link to be copied and posted into a browser / download manager so there is no problem with this site being identified as the source of the click. As well, when there's a long block of links, the whole bunch can be copied in one operation and fed into the download manager without change. Imagine Avengers #1-450 with a "xx" in every link. Well, thats my rant. I hope I didn't offend anyone... that was never the intention.  A day later: Just found the edit button so just making some spelling and "knowledge of this board" corrections. Jam it back in, in the dark.
