General Comic http Downloads
 

This is a thread for posting general comic http downloads (Like the title would suggest), belonging to no particular series as stated in other threads. Just post links you may have found, or sites/resource venues that carry a good selection of downloads.

These comics do not have to be part of a Current Series, and do not have to be Marvel or DC either. For those that may be a little unsure, Generally Japanese Manga would be better situation for Animespot, as these cover American Comic books (European ones are fine too).

As for the Marvel Mangaverse, (Spoiler'd to make it nice n' orderly)

Anyway enough blabbing: I'm not going to do this now, but maybe later on this post will be turned into sort of an 'Index', and downloads which no longer work can be noted and then reupped again :)

My starting contribution: While a few of these are from Civil War, the majority are not and are spread out amongst many series:

Or people can just go to the IRC channel in the sticky and have access to thousands of scans and not have to rely on services like YouSendIt...

Not everyone has access to IRC, especially me at college :cow:

Besides, I can totally flip that around and say:
"Or people can just click on the links in the thread and have access to whatever scans are posted without having to deal with IRC Logins & Access..."

I`d just like to chime in and say this kind of thread is alot more user friendly then IRC and Torrents, so I`d like to big up Dark Nation

Be careful with posting links like that, we dont want jetsam/condign to get out so some of these people might want to keep their stuff private too.

IIRC, an easy way to prevent backlinking is to replace the http:// with hxxp://, although you could use hzzp:// or something else like that as well.

I shall make this an important notice in my first post then :)

Backlinking is not the issue, it's about showing respect to the uploaders.
IE we want our space be for gamingforce people only, so please respect that if the original uploader wants it to be private.

Well, in the thread the link goes to they post some links to Jetsam, so I don't really think that's an issue. If it's posted in a public forum, I don't see a problem.

I'm not in charge of Jetsam, but I would still prefer it if you prefixed hxxp as a safety precaution. Leechers join public forums all the time, and take advantage of what the community is trying to offer its well known members, not joeguy89 or something.

I have an opinion
As a general rule, posters in public forums (Google indexes it, lol) do not mind their links being shared.
In fact, sharing beyond the forum is the only way to keep links alive... otherwise, the inactive period of the host server passes and they get deleted.
And the uploader might have to up them again.

Second, guys post comic links coz its all about sharing.
They may not know U but they want U to enjoy it too.
And, hopefully, U will reciprocate and allow them to enjoy what U have.
In other words, if U take something from a forum... leave something behind with the forum.
Don't just leech.

Third, the "don't steal links" demand is mostly made by the board rulers, not the people who post the links.
The bosses want the links to stay there and so attract new members to them.
Those same chiefs fully expect their members to leech other boards to death.
Its not a good policy coz its both unfair and selfish.

Some uploaders rely on their links spreading as widely as possible coz they depend on download quantity to gain a free account on the host server each month - - eg, Rapidshare: get 10,000 downloads from your R/S folders this month and they give U a free premium account next month.
So, bean counting can matter too.

Hmmmmm.
There's several other points that can be made but... no matter.

My problem here is that I can't get a fix on where its ok to post links. I'll work it out but for the moment its confusion.

re: masking the URLs with "xx" in the HLQ
Are [ c o d e ] tags available here?
If yes, they forve the link to be copied and posted into a browser / download manager so there is no problem with this site being identified as the source of the click.
As well, when there's a long block of links, the whole bunch can be copied in one operation and fed into the download manager without change.
Imagine Avengers #1-450 with a "xx" in every link.

Well, thats my rant.
I hope I didn't offend anyone... that was never the intention.
