Time machine is interesting but sounds like a terrible idea for someone who likes a lot of harddrive space. Really, how feasible is it for the OS to handle the TB of storage I like to keep like that?
Also lolin' at the idea of time machine unearthing mountains of deleted porn. Zooming through tit city is gonna be hilarious. ='D And anyway as advanced as OSX is why is it that it still has shit media playing support. VLC, MPlayer, and quicktime are laughing stocks when it comes to playing mkv, ogm, and well just about anything because their interfaces are just ridiculous. Give me a player with the support and useability as Media Player Classic and maybe we'll talk. I'm surprised some Mac user hasn't gotten pissed off enough to make their own version of it. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
MKV/OGM are the wave of the future maaaan. Gotta have full support. You figure someone out there would be trying to make it work on the mac correctly. Easy answer is to also own a PC that can of course do it correctly via MPC but still. What about the mac fags who want to watch anime lent to them that is in mkv/ogm? My mac buddy and I have to go through this all the time when we hang out b/c we use his apple laptop to play anime on his big-screen tv. We just groan when we start playing an episode that we didn't realize was in the playlist as an mkv file. "God damn it VLC. God damn it."
So yeah I hope some irrated mac user someday writes up a cross-platform library for advanced subtitling or whatever. Hell, just some super port of MPC would be awesome. How ya doing, buddy? |
Personally, I enjoy softsubs. They make sense b/c then the subs can scale and you can turn them off if you want and enjoy the show raw if you'd like. Plus it allows for multiple subtitle tracks which is useful and sometimes fun. =)
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
