Good program to rip .mp4

Hi there,


I bought a 16 GB SDHC Micro SD card today for my HTC Hero.

What I'm wondering. Does anyone know any good software/tutorial how to rip .vob, .avi, whatever... to .mp4 high quality? Android OS doesn't support any other format than .mp4 which sucks!

I tried to googling around, but I don't know which sources I should depend on/trust most out of it! Time is essence!

Help would be great guys!

Hey! Thanks for the link Zerg. Actually I want quality and portability. I have tried to use another program few days ago, and it end up not so good quality.

Anyway, I could always give the HTC Hero Converter a try.


Edit: I tried the program, and it's very good! All I actually wanted was the video quality to be much more smoother than my previous program! Thanks for the link Zerg! Thanks a lot!

Edit: I found the program is very good with video quality, but the sound quality lack from the original file. It sounds like it's more "muted" or something like that. Is there any other programs you know which I can convert the .vob to .mp4 without touching the original sound from the .vob file?

The original file from the video. You can hear the acoustic sound much more clearly than the converted. It sounds like "damped"

Thank you for your help! Actually. How do you fix the audio stuff? I need the video to be .mp4, because I'm going to put it on my phone.

The file I sent to you was only one video though. I have many videos I want to put in my phone. Do you know any other possiblites way to convert the .vob files to .mp4 without touching the audio quality, and I don't really need to work so much for fixing meGui and stuff like that?

The video quality could be a bit lower. Doesn't really matter so much as long it doesn't looks like very poor ripped, or VHS quality for 10 years back or something. It's just I'm really fastidious about sound quality.

Thank you for uploading the screenshot! No, I can't see any differences according from the pictures, but the video quality is from the file which is originally converted by me, right? How is the differences between .vob and your own encode?

When I click on it, it comes up with a video and is playing for 5 sec. Suddenly it just hangs up!

Well, I tried to right click and save, but it doesn't come up with any message could give me a solution to save the video or not. From my browser, all I see is the link with address. Nothing blue writing, if you know what I am saying.

Edit. Nevermind, it works now! I will try to check the video on my phone now. Just give me some few minutes.

Edit: Alright. The sound quality is PERFECT! It's a little bit less better than the .vob original file, but doesn't really matter. I transfered the file to my phone, but nothing comes up on the video. Perhaps you didn't resize the video anything greater than 480x320.

What about the original file I sent to you? You could try to convert to .mp4 and resize 480x320.. The Audio quality could be the same like you did last time.

Yeah, the video with muddy sound did work on my phone.

I'm done with downloading MeGUI, installed it + update everything.

I don't really understand why it's no working. Is it possible to use MeGUI to convert the original file to another format? Do you have any other programs you know besides MeGUI I can convert and leaving the audio format as it is?
