My Mum is a doctor because it was just expected of her to study medicine and guess what? She hates it. If you want to study maths, to hell with your parents, yous tudy that. I mean it's maths, it's not like you've told your parents you want to be a prostitute or study Creation Science or something. Mathematics is a universally respected field and they should be proud.
