Haven't we been Allies with the Yukes since the War Fifteen Years Ago?!

But will it have awesome hangar music like 2?

Also, I think Distant Thunder still fails it for totally ruining the relationship to the final speech the guy gives in the hanger.

"Now, let us.....fend off the distant thunder?"

Seriously, that last hanagar line is one of the most memorable Ace Combat lines ever in my mind. NOW LET US TAKE BACK OUR SHATTERED SKIES!

GET OUT PEOPLE WHO CHANGE THE SUBTITLE NAMES.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Obvious tie-ins with Bartlett. There were so many referrences to it in 5, pretty hard to miss.

Besides, she's the reason behind the whole "Heartbreak One" name, so it'd be nice to get a little more backstory on it.

The end to the Belkan war was brought upon by the Yukes and Oseans joining forces, which caused the Belkans to nuke their own homeland to stop the Allies overwhelming advance. This is why I belive you can't count the Major involvement out.

Not sure about the quote though, you'd have to go back through the cinematics in 5 to get that one.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Sorry, should have clarified that I was backing your point of view in regards to Stealths question. I agree with you whole-heartedly man.

Also much love for the MiG-29.

Kojima also made Metal Gear Solid 2, so I'm not exactly going to listen to every god damn thing he says.

Besides, you're going to be playing the game, not looking at the damn box. The Box Art is decent, and that's all that matters. Get over it already.

Maybe if they make the CD art bad enough they won't even bother playing it, that way they won't fag up the thread when the game actually comes out.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I must say they have a striking similarity. If I could see the wings a little better I would have been able to see that. Guess I'll have to play it myself.

Same here. I've been told that the folder you extracted that from was actually an ISO you were supposed to burn.

I have no idea how this shit works, so don't take my word for it.

EDIT: Yeah, burn the cven-acez.iso

Quick question here, why is it exactly that Gelb 2 is referred to as "The Fallen"? I didn't really get anything relating to that out of his post-defeat interview, so maybe one of you knows something I don't?

Those Su-37s they fly fucking rock though. Rear QAAM caught me off gaurd so bad. Too bad it missed. :wned::

Spectacular game though. I'm going to go through as a Soldier (did Knight the first time around) and then probably Mercenary once the local release is out.

Am I forced to start from scratch (this is my only savegame) or is there an option to go back to previous missions?
So after talking to you in chat and discovering you still had an Su-37, did you ever successfully complete the mission?

I would also like to state that Diapason (the mission where you take back Directus) is one of the greatest scenarios I've seen since Emancipation in 4. Listening to the citizens of Ustio celebrate driving the Belkans out of their capital mid mission is all kinds of fantastic. It kinda made you feel like you were actually fighting for something. And the level music for it is also very, very appropriate. Not quite as good as Emancipation, but still all kinds of awesome.

You can do it in two. There are four locks, take out two with missiles and a third with guns. On your reverse run take out the fourth lock and the control. If you fire from a good enough angle around the approach wall you can take out all four locks in one run. This is assuming you do it at near stall speed and are close to the ceiling.

And yeah, I did it with a Su-37 too.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

Some songs like, "The Inferno", "Excalibur" "Avalon" "Glacial Skies" and "Zero" are just amazing. I even pre-ordered the soundtrack, I like it so much lol. I find these songs to actually more of an epic feel. That's just me though.

Same here. Can't wait for the soundtracks release. I expected it to be just as awesome as it is, since Ace Combat has always had some pretty stellar music.

Outside of what you listed stuff like "B7R", "Contact", "Diapason", and "The Final Overture" are also worth high mention.

In fact, pretty much the whole thing is one big awesomefest. Diapason and Zero are definetly my two favorite tracks.

Honorable mention to "Waldreich Mountains" and "Gelb" for being absolutely wonderful in their mood setting.

Ahahaha yeah, I caught that. What's even better is the SU-37 paint scheme for Mercenary. Hello Yellow 13, how ya doin?

It's the little things they do that make me love this series so much.

AC5 was sold with a Hori Flightstick 2 bundle, there's a review on IGN here.

It works with 4, 5, and Zero, so if you can grab one off eBay or wherever I'd definitely reccomend it.

Come on, why are you lying to yourself. That addition was all that mattered. It's pretty hard to improve upon something that's damn near perfect. The fact that the enemies were actually a challenge this time around rather than them all being cannon fodder and that your wingman actually helped keep you alive in tough spots is improvement enough for me.

Shit, sometimes I just tail Pixy and watch him shoot down enemies just to stare in amazement that my partner DOES stuff.

How ya doing, buddy?

I would have loved to see Online, but coming so close to the PS3s introduction and with Sonys admitedly weak online network structure at the moment, I'd rather they waited until AC6 to give us online, at least then we'd get a product system that isn't completely halfassed and they'd really be able to do something with it.
