Not at all surprised by all the blowjobbery that Slumdog got, but was honestly shocked when it won Best Original Score. Seriously now, that's ridiculous.
Come on, the theme of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire is by far the best piece of music ever.

Was there any other music in the movie?

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Since I've seen most of the films nominated, I can pretty solidly say what I think of the choices. Slumdog Millionaire can win whatever it wants, since it's still a good movie, but. Well, at least the director award went to the right place. It was a complete chore for Boyle, all those non-english-speaking kids to work with, and to come up with something so lively and real feeling.

Milk was completely left out, I nerdraged a bit about that. It should've at least won, at least leading male role and screenplay. And the music was great too, finally a good score by Danny "I suck" Elfman, even though the score globe should've gone to In Bruges with its wonderful waltz theme.

I kind of think best picture should be Wall-E, but is it completely left out of the game because it's "just" an animated feature and not a "real" movie? Will it not get an oscar nomination for the same reason? Since it's completely out of the league that is nowadays called animated film - it could very well hold its own in the "big" league, much like any Miyazaki film should be allowed to. I know the "animated feature film academy award" was founded because of Beauty and the Beast getting a best movie nomination, and people got scared of a CARTOON winning best film. OH MY GOD.

Kiefer Sutherland himself laughed (at the award presentation) at his nomination for the role from the 24 TV film. Who were the nominators kidding. =( I also like how many of the TV actors nominated are mostly, or better known as big screen actors. TV sucks.

In short, FUCK YOU FOREIGN PRESS FOR DISSING MILK.

There's nowhere I can't reach.
