Whoa, GFF is back.

Well, everyone's heard the news and cast. Gotta say that I'm really looking forward to hearing how George Newburn will present Sephiroth. Perhaps Superman with a more devious voice? He played the ultimate good guy in JL, and now he's going to be the ultimate bad guy in AC, this should be very interesting.

Flynn as Reno? I'll probably be constantly reminded of Raiden everytime Reno speaks now.

Surprised that Freeman wasn't given the role of Vincent, but nevertheless I think Blum will do an excellent job. As for Billingslea as Barret, sounds like a good match to me, at least from what I heard in Ace Combat 5 (he played Captain Snow).

As for the delay, I've heard rumors that the reason behind it had something to do with Suvari's contract in having to play Aerith in both KH2 and AC.

All in all, definitely an impressive cast list for the movie. I think the dub might actually turn out pretty well, assuming we get some quality performances from Cooke and Suvari.

Ahh, unfortunately I never did pick up those 3. I did find them, but I thought that they weren't worth the price so I didn't bother purchasing any of them. If I remembered correctly, the prices were from $35-45, and their scale for them ended up being a lot smaller than I was expecting. I think Bahamut ended up being just a little shorter than Sephiroth (height wise). Anyway, I'll stop by the shop again tomorrow to get better measurements (maybe even purchase one, if the price got lowered).

Also, a while ago I found another custom Cloud figure up for auction at yahoo japan. The auction is closed now, but if I remembered correctly I think the price was 50000 yen. It's a pretty sweet custom job, it came with Cloud's 6 swords (not as nice as the other custom job), Cloud's sword holster pack, shades, and an open frame piece (with slots for the swords) for Fenrir. Here are some sweet images.

Also, referencing to Simo's post, I gotta say the FFX play art figures are looking sweet (as well as the FFVIII figures). Just look at Auron! It looks like you'll be able to adjust his left sleeve to flip between slinged arm (resting) and sleevless arm (battle). Hopefully, there'll be enough flexibility in his figure to allow him to hold the blade in both hands (so we can pull off some sweet poses). A lot better than those 1/6 statues from a few years ago.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Haven't seen any, but it'd be cool if some of their sculptors could mass produce their work. Ahhh, I really hope Kotobukiya will consider doing an extra pieces back, where it'll come with the 6 swords plus the neat sword holster pack.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

I just hope, and probably will, they'll produce some FFXII products. I'd love for a Play Arts of Judge Master Gabranth.
I dunno, I kinda having doubts on a FFXII Play Arts line, as so far all the FF Play Arts figures have been from games where Tetsuya Nomura had been the character designer.

Oh and to follow up on I said about the other AC figures (Shadow Creeper, Bahamut Sin, Sierra) I'd say the packaging dimensions were about 11"x10"x10", so you can probably get an idea as how big these figs are. Not sure was the exact scale is for Sierra or Bahamut (he was about as tall as Sephiroth) is, but I'd say the Shadow Creeper's are on the one as the cast (Tifa, Cloud, etc.). With Sierra costing about $50, Bahamut Sin $40, and I think Shadow Creeper was $35. The quality is pretty good, the paint job on Bahamut and Shadow Creeper were really well done. Bahamut looked to be pretty well articulated and Sierra looks like any other model airship with rotatable propellers. Though, those prices are way too high for me, so I doubt think I'll be getting these any time soon (I mean the cast figures were cheaper than these, and you get more out of them).

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Ahh, but they're not Play Arts figures. But yea, I guess they wouldn't pass up on the opportunity to capitalize on all forms of merchandising for FFXII.

Oh this was at my local comic shop, not sure why they raised and ranged the price like that. Meh, anyway I'm not as crazy for those ones as the actual characters. But if I do see in that range, then I'll definitely pick up a Sierra, if not a Bahamut. Who knows, maybe these will be cheaper at the next local anime conventtion.

Ah, no worries. I'm not hell-bent on getting them, as my real interest is with the character figures. Boosting for that Kadaj! Hopefully Kotobukiya has made the commitment to go through with it.

BTW, there's a counter on AC's official english page (which means they're commited to the release date). Looks like the site's set up went through a slight change, though information wise it appears to be same (except the news page). They really should update it through.

You mentioned that it was a bit difficult to remove Cloud's hand due to the close proximity of the elbow joint. I found this to not be a problem as the hand came off quite smoothly. However, putting Cloud's sword hand in it's stead was fucking HARD!!! o_O....Then it took me ages to put the sword in his hand after that. Just the way it was molded seemed to be a problem. I literally had to pry the fingers open with a screw driver before I could slip the sword handle in..... >_< . But after that it was great - the hand just held the sword in a good grip.....way cool!!

Putting him on the bike was....difficult too. I still can't get him to sit on the bike properly (his butt won't touch the seat) and I can't get his left hand to grip the steering handle. And is it just me or is the elevation of the front fork a little too high?

Yea I made that post. Haha, I'd say the overall removal of the right hand was difficult. I still can't seem to switch out his sword hand, and I dare not try, at least not until the individually packaged Cloud is release. I had trouble with the sword at first, but once I found the trick behind it was simple.

Sitting him in the bike can be a pain in the ass, specifically with his feet. It's difficult to get them to touch the pedals, but once you do it'll get easier. Cause then all you have to do is just push on him till his ass sits on the seat and his legs are grasping/wrapped-around the bike. Getting his hands to grip the handle can be done, it just takes a little juggling. Try rotating the grip handle, that might help you get the left hand to grip it.

Meh, they really could have done more with the bonus section. They could have added something like a feature with the english VA cast or localization. They really should give some sort of compensation for the 7 month wait.

Oh well, at least that dumb looking red bar is gone now.

I thought there was a commentary track as well, damn it. Is the Japanese voice track even in it?

Man, I can't believe we got shafted with the commentary. I was hoping they'd at least provide subtitles for the Japanese one. Well, seeing as there isn't, does anyone have a script/translation of the Japanese commentary? Cause I'd love to know what Nomura and co are saying.

The bonus pre-order disc sounds interesting though. The "1.5 hours of bonus footage" is intriguing me, though this really should be been included as apart of the movie. Hopefully this won't be a USA only thing.

How about Steve Burton? I'm going to assume he's doing a top notch job, considering no negatives have been mention on his behalf.

Regarding the AC figures, for those who passed up on the Cloud+Fenrir set, the individual Cloud figure is now available. He's exactly the same as the one packaged in the Cloud+Fenrir set. No AC figure collection is complete without a Cloud! (Bought another one for collection purposes).

Bah, that's just bull shit. Seems like such a waste of great performances, when hearing that the dub was stellar. No doubt, it'll seem some what awkward now (like any other dubbed movie/game). So, basically, it means it took them 8 months just to dub the damn thing.

I'm hearing Red will have a British accent too (they must have read all the Sean Connery requests). Not sure if I approve of this, but he only gets one line.
Scottish Cait Sith, eh? I didn't expect that, I was actually expecting a cartoony voice. Can't wait to see how it works out. Red XIII with a British accent, hmm, I guess it'll work (he seems to have that kind of elegance I guess). Oh and he actually has, like, 3 lines I think (definitely more than 1).

I actually wasn't really expecting characters to accents, but I guess a little diversity is refreshing.

Ahh, can't wait to hear Newbern's Sephiroth performance in AC now. Hopefully a bootleg will pop up in a few days. I'm sure someone managed to sneak in some recording device.

Ohh, sounding pretty good. Too bad they couldn't have chosen a scene with more voice acting. I like em though. I thought Fred Tatasciore did a great job with Loz's grunts, they sound identical to the Kenji Nomura's performance. Steve Staley's perfomance might take a little while to get used to, but nevertheless I liked it. Steve Burton, just as I expected.

Also, the "black sheep" bit was how they translated it in the official trailers as well. So we can get an idea as to what the dialogue will be from watching the english trailers.

I think it was the later. Makes more sense, considering that the fans would have gone ape shit on SE/Sony if they didn't include the Japanese dub track on the DVD.

Oh and I was Blockbuster earlier tonight and saw the AC trailer being shown on the TVs there. So it looks like promotions are starting.

As for the phone calls/intermissions during the feature, they're just little calls between Cloud and some of the gang, as they're planning a meeting. They don't actually comment on the events that are being summarized. As for the summary itself, kinda just shows the key points in the story (even including the optional characters Vincent and Yuffie).

Anyway, maybe that bonus disc from pre-ordering will include some of the stuff mentioned during the commentary. Though, if anyone has a translated script of the commentary from the japanese DVD, then please pass it over! As I'd love to know what Nomura and staff were talking about.

I'm actually liking the voices so far, no complaints from me. Though that one clip with Tifa, Cook didn't do a very good read with the lines. Overall though, really liked Beau Billingslea's performance as Barret (thought it suited him), Blum as Vincent sounding good, and Greg Ellis did a great job with Cait Sith. But I agree that the lip syncing definitely seems a little off. They really should have taken the time to reanimate the mouths, as the awkwardness with some of the lines would have been avoided.

Oh and Kadaj actually used "remanents."

Diamond Comics to release the FF7AC polystone statues to NA, due to ship in October 2006. Apparently Sephiroth measures in at 14" tall and Cloud at 10". Each will be sold seperately, at a hefty price of $200 a piece. Unfortunately, I think I'll be passing on this set (just too expensive).
