Where I live in Oregon an Arco Station had prices as low as $1.85 as recently as one week ago (compare that to the adjacent shell station with prices at $2.03). Now they both read $2.05 and $2.21 respectively. The funniest thing is milk is cheaper than gas is. At Safway you can snatch up some 2% Dairy Glen Milk for $1.98, it used to be milk was much more (not counting the post-Katrina price hike).

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I'll put it simply, any time there's negative news about the Middle East (such as the attempted bombing of a Saudi refinery, the Dubai port takeover, and possible Iraq Civil War), gas prices climb. They do so because oil companies know that most people will accept the climb due to hostile conditions in the supposed world capital of oil output.

There's nowhere I can't reach.
