Beer? Too long? Bah - if you can pound a 12 pack in 15 minutes, you're good to go!
If you can't do that just yet... Hang around with some pilots for a week or so, and then you should have the required skills. If beer isn't available, I'll take double or triple shots of anything available  Jam it back in, in the dark.
