I liked it, and I dislike most things, for whatever that's worth.
Spoiler:
I think both brothers can fly because this show is going to use sci-fi type genetics theory to explain everything. Also because they're brothers, one will turn into a villain.

How do the spoiler rules work? We can't talk about a show that's already aired?

This show excites me the way the first several episodes of LOST did. What it did right: They demonstrated that there was a specific sci-fi type plot, and are using the "six degrees of separation" stuff to advance it. There was no rampant abuse of the cliffhanger, and I only cringed at the acting/writing once during the whole episode. I'm sold.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I thought the last episode was the best so far, too. I'm not going to try to justify it anymore. This is a pretty decent show.

There should be a clear spoiler policy because I don't know if some are just about the most recently aired episode, which I want to read. What I don't want to read are actual spoilers about shows that haven't aired. Want to click, but can't.

I think Claire's dad is an asshole. He's up to something that involves fucking over other people who don't even know who the hell he is. So I vote for evil there.

Everyone on this show is pretty.

So despite the fact that I love this show, I felt like Ted's involvement thus far was kind of a cop out. I mean, he seems like such a pivotal character, and then they pull a bait and switch and Peter has everybody's powers and becomes dangerous basically for unspecified reasons. =/

Plus, it occurred to me after the Company Man episode that Ted isn't just a firestarter, but a radiation-emitter, and if the show is based around genetic differences-- mutations in the genome-- then I thought it might alter Claire or Matt's abilities for the worse. Then it turns out they get out not much the worse for wear.

I mean, sure, you can quote "suspension of disbelief" at me, but the show asks you to accept certain things as givens and then refuses to play by its own rules, so it was just an aspect about the plot so far I found annoying.
I don't remember there being a part of the show where it was explained that their special powers came from radiation. Maybe I'm not paying enough attention, but I got the impression it was more like an in-born genetic mutation, like how some people are born blind or with webbed toes. Mind-reading cop guy keeps saying that Primatech made him that way, but was that really made clear? I thought they all had their genetic mutation from birth, and then it became active at some point in their lives. Did the show ever explain what causes their dormant powers to awaken?

As far as Ted and Peter being dangerous goes, that's not really a continuity problem. That's a twist that I think improved the story. Peter is sort of on a downward spiral towards evil because he believes that is his destiny, which is way more interesting than the radioactive guy being an angry radioactive guy.

I'm not saying you shouldn't be able to dislike certain developments in the story for whatever reason, but that doesn't mean the story doesn't hold together. I don't think this show has become LOST yet, but I could be wrong. Being wrong is one of my powers.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I don't see Peter as having that much power, really. He's one of a few characters who have far more potential for exploiting their mutations, but he's obviously not especially formidable at this point because he's all caught up on himself. I'd say the Mystique-shapeshifter lady can probably get almost anything done by exploiting the relationships of other "heroes." She seems a little too powerful to me, but something holds her back from flat out ruling the world. Sylar is obviously capable of incredible power, but he's distracted by his super-munchies. Anyway, the point was that Peter isn't really all that singularly powerful when you take into consideration that this isn't some kind of massive mutant death match. I would like to see that towards the series finale, perhaps, but what I'm trying to say is that I don't think the power dynamics between the characters can be determined merely by the usefulness of their mutations. What each character amounts to is controlled more by their psychological troubles and social issues, since it's a serialized TV drama and not Battle Royale. Hell, even in that story the ones with the bigger guns didn't necessarily have more power.
At some point everyone is going to have to get together. . . .
IN BED!

How ya doing, buddy?

Yeah, I probably would have noticed the non-shapeshifting too if I hadn't been trying to play Rogue Galaxy during the commercial breaks. Either way, that's a powerful ability since she can pretty much get anyone else to help her do anything she wants by pretending to be a desperate friend or family member and stuff like that. It's good to know she's not a complete Mystique rip-off, though.

I really don't want Peter or Sylar to die any time soon because they're pretty.

Blame the stupid "sweeps" crap for the scheduling issues. Show producers hardly have any choice in the matter. They have to slow down, speed up, or completely stop at points in pretty much every season in order to prove their worthiness to General Motors, Kraft, and all those fuckers -- so all resentment caused by impatience should be directed at the advertising industry. It annoys me too, though, especially with shows I like.

But it's almost time to SAVE THE WORLD, finally. Yay, I'm parroting the slogan without feeling dirty.

I think what the mini-marathon of this show that just aired reminded me of most was that this show has a lot of fucking commercials, and it is somewhat drawn out in ways that aren't entertaining on a second viewing. I THINK.

Can't wait for Monday night, though. OHHHHH, Heroes . . .

Also, the most consistently entertaining aspect of those three episodes was Mr. Muggles.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

Thanks for explaining that. I didn't quite get it while watching, either. I want to turn my geeky, sci-fi-watching brain parts back on for this show, but I've been hurt so many times before, I just . . . . Does this show really still make sense? TV can still do that?

I'll pay attention tonight. Now I'm all excited about my pretty heroes.
