I'm going to sound retarded saying this, but the only thing that kept me from enjoying FFTA more was the fact that the menus felt too cluttered, and I could never get a handle on what the FUCK was going on with my character's equipment. As long as that is fixed, I can see myself spending gobs of hours on this.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

LeHah: The judge system is much more lenient this time around. It's no longer involving jail or incredibly draconian penalties. Major plus.

Downside is, I've seen one review mention one of the rules they go to be "Don't let enemies steal gil from you." What the hell? I hope there's not one that says "Don't get hit."

There's nowhere I can't reach.

No. FFT was hard unless you knew what you were doing from the get-go.
I don't think you should ever assume, when assessing the difficulty of a game, that the person playing it has decided what they are doing throughout the entire game before playing it.

As for FFTA2, I have to say I'm impressed. I never made it far into FFTA the first, and the biggest reason why was the godawful menus. In FFTA they crammed what they could onto the screen, but it was a multi-screen process just to make sure all of your characters had what they needed. They very smartly made use o the top screen in the unit menus this time around, making it a lot easier to see at a glance all of the abilities and things that everyone is learning.

The bazaar feature is also nice, but there was a reason it worked in FF12: You never HAD to use it. The random luck involved with picking up the right reagants for the new weapons means that I still haven't gotten any new rods for my casters, and that's annoying.

Overall, though, I must say I'm quite impressed with how it turned out. The story isn't anything to write home about, but the game still has a great level of polish and an EXTREME amount of depth. At least, looking at it about 2 inches into the game, it looks like it's deep.

Additional Spam:
little Tommy looking for his Cripple Friend in an imaginary world or some shit, I go "wtf".
Correction: The story was about Marche and about how he was a TOTAL DICK and couldn't let anyone have any fun.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

No, I'm with you on the Fitting Room; they really needed to bring back Tactics' Optimize option for it. The only advantage I see to not having Optimize is that it forces you to look through the shop's selection, which ensures that you don't miss any equipment that might offer you new skills for your current job.
To be honest, that least sentencei s exactly why I'm glad there's not an optimize button. Sure, you have to go through and look through the weapons yourself, but that way you at least can make sure you've not missed something, like I did when I discovered that the whole damn time I was whining to myself about my archer not getting any armor that taught him anything, it was because I was dumb and not getting him a new bow.

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

Quick question about the Bazaar thing. Is it worth it to unlock every single new weapon/armor? I have no idea what the requirements are for the other items. And I don't want to miss any important item because I ran of loot to unlock it with.
I've made it a policy to hold off on using the loot until I need to get a new skill for one of my characters. Overall, though, there's enough overlap with what loot you get when that it won't be much of an issue, and even then I've gotten stuff as Judge Bonuses hours before I got the loot to buy it at the store. As long as you're a packrat you won't have any problems with items.

I will say, though, it's quite frustrating when it comes to armor and rods. My black mage hasn't learned ANYTHING extra yet. Really aggravating.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Am I the only one who likes the Bazaar? I get new loot all the time, so I get excited and check out the list. Look for a decent item description and the highest ranks I can make, then get started. Very enjoyable to me, even though Black and White Mage gear barely shows up.
I like the bazaar system too, actually. It lets me slow down the progression of items in the shop. If I don't need anything new, I don't turn any loot items in until people learn some abilities. That way, I don't feel constantly like I'm "behind" where I should be, because the item shop's stock waits for me!

When it comes to the clan trials, I've always been going for the third option down... if I re-do the trial later at a higher rank, does the reward start over again? Like, if the reward for rank 3 was +8 X and -5 Y, and the reward for rank 5 is +16 X and -10 Y, will I get +16/-10 or +8/-5 (the part of the rank 5 reward I HAVEN'T gotten yet)?

I basically don't have the confidence to actually try it yet. >_>

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?
