Well, what happens? Does Firefox crash, does the player show up and not play anything, does the page come up blank?
Can you give us an example page that you are having trouble with? I haven't had that problem. Also, if it is only WMP, can you tell us what version of WMP you have on your computer, as well as what version of Firefox? Jam it back in, in the dark.

Have you reinstalled Firefox yet? Also, make sure there are no extensions turned on.
Also, Tools->Options->View/Edit Actions and look to see if the file type is there and, if so, what it is doing. There's nowhere I can't reach.
