From what I've heard on the review sites, there isn't much difference between the two cards. The XTX just has a slightly faster clock and ram speed than the XT (25MHz more on the GPU and 50MHz more on ram.) If you're just a casual gamer I doubt you see much of a difference with the 6 to 10% increase in performance.

At best you can just buy the XT and overclock it to XTX's speed. I don't know about reflashing it though.

I'm reading the spec sheet right now and the X1900XTX has the same amount of pixel shaders than the X1900XT =p. Though, the X1800XT card does have less pixel shaders than the X1900XT set (4 pixel shaders compared to X1900XT's 12 pixel shaders.)

There's nowhere I can't reach.
