PAL to NTSC

Is there a way to convert PAL movies to NTSC? 'cause my DVD only read US stuff... and I'm after a European series and I would really rather watch it on my DVD

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Ah sweet!

question on this step:

Quote:
You want to highlight the VOB files that are the MAIN MOVIE and only those VOB files. This may take some trail and error and in some cases the movie and the extras may all be in the same VOB file "set". In that case I suggest ripping with DVD Decrypter in IFO MODE and select the MAIN MOVIE. It isn't that hard and will give you the same sort of output except you will have just the MAIN MOVIE and nothing else.
At this step... My movie has 5 sets of vob
Set 1: bleh
Set 2: ??? It's blank
Set 3: Company intro (example you know all those North American companies with their logo before a movie - dunno what company this one is though <.<)
Set 4: Movie
Set 5: Extra stuff in DVD (example, fact vs fiction, interviews and such)

Now I DO want the extra on the DVD... so should I add both set 4 and 5 or just 4?

How ya doing, buddy?

Well, I live in Canada and chances are it's NOT 60 and it may not even exist here...

Eitherway, any idea anyone?

I was speaking idiomatically.

Tsunade, which one of those guides are you using? If you let me know that, I might be able to help you through this process. I had to do this with some DVDs I imported from Australia. (I live in the US.)

Nero Premium has a recode option that can convert to NTSC from PAL and vice versa. I use it for all sort of British TV shows and it works great. PM me if you would like a copy of it.

It's not a simple matter of getting a region-free player. You can easily remove the region protection from any DVD with simple programs available on the internet, and a DVD burner.

PAL and NTSC and completely different video broadcasting standards, and your DVD player would have to have a built-in PAL-NTSC coverter in order to play it off the bat. Otherwise you have to convert it some other way.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
