Point Blank DS!

http://www.planetgamecube.com/newsArt.cfm?artid=11212

Namco has announced Point Blank for Nintendo DS!

I loved these games when I was younger, it's great to see them back, and there's no better suited system than the DS to put this on. It seems to be a mix of all the PSX ones, hopefully they make it work very well!

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I don't have a DS, but I can see myself stabbing through the screen on this one. :\

Looks cool though.

Seems like it's going to be way too easy.

The difficultly of Point Blank was that you were away from the television screen, not touching the targets with a stylus.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I'm pretty sure they're going to adjust to that for the DS version.

Besides this, I always thought of Point Blank being the poor man's Time Crisis.

i would play point blank and time crisis equally and loved both, but this game would be even more fantastic if announced for the revolution

now if the konami quick draw game with the magic cup was at the arcade, i would waste as much money as i could to get on its top 10 list

How ya doing, buddy?

this game is a classic, but i think that u wont get the same feel to the game as playing it with a gun. cos with the ds it'll be more of how quick u react than acuracy in aiming, if u know what i mean.

For this reason, I hope it's a success on the DS. Let's get us that Point Blank Revolution game!

I never played the PS versions, but I always wanted to. Even though it won't be the same as using a light gun, this looks like a good way to experience the series.

Ooh, this could be fun, but I gotta side with JazzFlight right now. Point Blank is WAY too easy when you stand a foot away from the screen; I'd hope they make the levels more frenetic to compensate, or maybe require more precision.

I can see this being extremely fun if done right. I'll probably want to hear out gameplay comments after it's released before making this a game-to-get. I really gotta see how they implement the "touch...gun."

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I would have to agree with this. Point Blank, and pretty much any other arcade shooter, would be very well done on the Revolution.

I think they'd have to tweak it a bit for the difficulty to be equal, compared to the PSX and arcade versions, but I can see Point Blank being a very fun game on the DS. I'd definitely consider buying it.

Always loved Point Blank. I think it will do good on the DS but I miss the feeling of having a gun
Maybe they could use a rumblepak to spice things up a bit.

I was speaking idiomatically.

I loved the older lightgun versions and I will be sure to play the DS. I hope it isnt insanely easy for the DS, having the stylus and all...

I remember some of Point Blank 2, which I played at my cousin's house. Great shooting fun there.

The biggest worry I have is the lack of difficulty. It is easier to poke at everything in the screen than it is to shoot at something from afar. Of course, the game could still be hard and fun at the same time.

Just a little note:

The term "Point Blank" would suit a stylus stabbing the screen better than a ranged PEW PEW LASERS! But yeah, it'll be a different situation with this.

Maybe the game will come bundled with a straw and a box of nails, then you fill your mouth with the nails and spit them out (via the straw) at the touch screen. And buy a new DS every twenty minutes or so. And go to hospital due to an excessive amount of blood pouring from your mouth.

I loved these at the arcade, when arcades actually had arcade games in them rather than muscial weight loss machines. Was it Point Blank 2 that had the car shooting one? So mental. I'd buy this DS version at a budget price. NAMCO NAMCO.

This seems...really odd. I mean when all you'll be doing is tapping targets on the screen, isn't it really just a glorified version of Whack-a-Mole?

Yeesh, I have played the PS releases... They were pretty fun.

Just seems a little ridiculous on here though... Touching isn't the same as shooting something.
