Your Resistance 2 is only making my penis harder!
Spoiler:
Still, this is Insomniac we're talking about. Those guys are fucking robots, consistently putting out nothing but high quality. I like how they are taking the whole 'class' concept (I assume ala CoD4?) and combining that with the implementation of squads. If executed properly, it could really be a pretty sweet idea - kind of like a team within a team. Anyways, what do you guys think? Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]()

Sup GFF faggots, who can't handle shit? |
Nice, I enjoyed Resistance, but too many pr0z online.
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Can't wait for this. The first one was good. But it was laggy everytime I went to play it. It was probably because of the PSN at the time. Cause when I was trying to play was when the PS3 had just come out.
As for everything else, it sounds very cool. Graphics look great. Only thing is if KZ2 and Resistance 2 can co-exist in the same year. Guess we'll just have to wait and see. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Mobile phone quality? If it's anything like my Motorola, then I don't want it.
I still have to play the first Resistance. Playing an FPS using the PS3 is troubling though. How ya doing, buddy? ![]() |
Please please please please don't again force us to start an entirely new campaign just to play co-op. That was the stupidest idea ever.
I was speaking idiomatically. ![]() |
Haven't played the first one yet (I did play the demo though and thought it was pretty good), but hearing all this is definitely making me excited enough to start it. The sixty-player online and eight-player co-op alone sound impressive, so if they manage to pull those off well this may be the first PS3 game I buy on the day of release.
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? ![]() |

Haha! Q needed help on the single player campaign and hard to start over to get it.
Holy shit. 60 player deathmatches will be the most awesome and chaotic thing ever. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
The single-player campaign and the 8 player co-op campaings are seperate campaigns altogether. Different levels, cinematics, characters, etc. So having to start from the beginning is what you will want to do this time around since it's like a whole nother game.

Sounds like the 60-player multiplayer is more going to be for team-based matches than flat-out deathmatch. Since it looks like only dedicated servers will be hosting them, it's probably left up to the choice of whoever is running the servers.
Pretty crazy stuff though, Insomniac always seems to go totally nuts with these projects. 8 player coop? There are hardly any games with 4 player coop. It would be pretty impressive if they managed to keep the game running smoothly with 8 players in a full campaign setting, especially since there's a pretty clear graphical upgrade as well. It's almost odd thinking of how other games give you about a half dozen AI teammates fighting alongside you in the campaign mode and realizing that in Resistance 2, all those characters could be fellow players...what kind of bosses could possibly stand up to a squad of 8 players? I'd like to see how the partly randomized geometry works too. It seems like that could be a good balance between typical games' completely static environments and something like dungeon crawlers where they have randomized but completely bland and generic level structures. Hopefully it will keep each game fresh while still being familiar each run through. There's nowhere I can't reach. |

aw snap BUMP.
In case anybody is interested, the first teaser trailer just popped up on the Playstation Blog -
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]() |
The teaser trailer looked incredibly plain and generic. I've never played the original and I have no real plans to because it all sounds rather vanilla.
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
That felt like a trailer for a trailer.
Most amazing jew boots ![]() |
The trailer I've seen looks very good, but it's difficult for me to get excited for this what with the first game proving to be so mindnubmingly average. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? ![]() |
Hay. June 13th just hit, and GameTrailers just did their huge Resistance 2 special, thus releasing another load of details about the game. Take a break from MGS4 and check it out:

Looks sexy. I hope the restriction on how many weapons you are able to carry at once will hopefully add some more strategic value to the game. FELIPE NO

Thanks to BonersGames, I was able to watch a complete playthrough of RFoM; I was intrigued (though carrying every weapon in the game at once was kind of odd). And what I've read about R2 (thanks, GameInformer), I imagine things will get... more intriguing.
With that out of the way... it occurs to me that with multiplayer server capacities being what they are, I for one wonder when certain team-based scenarios (such as CTF) will grow beyond having merely two teams. Imagine, for instance, a map with four teams, each with their own flag to defend. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

Emails are going out today to people who signed up for the beta, which is apparently starting tonight.
I haven't gotten one. YET. Has anybody else purchased Quore or preordered the game and received a key? I know there were something like 4 different ways to obtain entry into the beta...too bad I chose the one method that is the most unlikely. What can I say - I'm cheap :/. Most amazing jew boots ![]()

I didn't buy Qore or preorder the game either, but I'm still hoping I get in. Not really because I'm so desperate to play it (like with LBP), but because it seems like this might be the only way to try it before it comes out. I haven't heard anything about a normal demo, and the full game is less than a month away. I guess they could always release one after it comes out, though.
On that note though, is anyone else getting freaking sick and tired of betas? It seems like every other game now has some beta nowadays, and it especially sucks when they release one in lieu of an actual demo (would it hurt Sony to release a small one or two level demo for LBP, especially for people who didn't get into the LBP beta and are on the fence about it?). The worst part is when they use it as some kind of premium enticement, like a preorder bonus or something. Why should you have to put money down on a game just to test it for them? This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]() |
Seriously though, it's genius from a business perspective. If a game receives a great enough level of hype - you can essentially further entice people to buy your product in advance while simultaneously receive free raw testing data from the beta. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? ![]()

The beta has been a lot of fun. I've been spending a lot of time playing co-op and TDM. Game looks pretty nice and it's fun, I can't wait for the full game to come out.

Rock on - I just got accepted into the beta. It's downloading now - but I won't be able to try it out until later tonight after the Wild beat the shit out of the Sabres.
Anybody else able to grab it who possibly wants to play a round later tonight? FELIPE NO ![]() |
I just got the beta today too.
I've only played the demo from part 1 and it seemed like a lot of fun so I'm ganna try this out. Downloading it now and I'll play tonight as well. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? ![]() New Record! |
I got in as well (must not be as difficult to get into as the LBP Beta was), but unforunately my internet has been acting up so I haven't been able to download it yet. Hopefully I'll have it done by this weekend, and maybe we can all get together and try some stuff out.
