Queer Firefox feature

I want that thing that slides up at the bottom right of the screen informing me that my forefox downloads are complete to go away. It 100%'s my CPU usage ;_;. I've had a look around the firefox extensions and plugins sites but come back empty handed ;_; I'm not really sure what I should be searching for there.

I've never really noticed before, but I just recently started getting some sheet music so it comes up and down every few seconds, usually them overlapping each other. I have to wait each time for it to finish before I can really do anything.

My CPU is a duron at 1500Mhz by the way. Not blazing fast I agree, but still

Jam it back in, in the dark.

....what?

Your issues aren't with Firefox. What your issue IS is your Antivirus (probably Norton, no?) scanning the file as soon as it's done downloading.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Wait, how is that Queer?

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I use AVG. With it off, it still does it. It's just the "downloads complete" thing sliding up and then sliding back down off the screen. It does it slowly (about 2 seconds either way.) and it's animated so smooth it takes up all of my CPU.

I wouldn't mind the feature if it didn't result in what's described above.

I thought maybe the notifier is dependant on the theme you're using (I've been using MiniFox since I can remember) so I tried a different skin and it's still the same problem

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

Have you ever tried disabling that notification feature? I usually turn off all useless animations that attempt to make things look better. Do you have a GPU in your system?

I was speaking idiomatically.

Oh man, thanks for your help people but after some investigating I've got it sussed. It's the "Smooth Scrolling" thing it seems. I love it for webpages, but it seems to do it for the "downloads have finished" notice also. What a bitch. I guess I'll just disable it for now until the dTA extension is fixed for 1.5.0.1

How ya doing, buddy?
