(3 points) F-ZERO GX-AX Original Soundtracks - CAPTAIN FALCON : I thought about nominating Dr. Stuart's theme, because that is some Grade A techno, but I decided to stick with Captain Falcon. As far as videogame vocal tracks go, I find it above average. Sure it's a a little campy, but also quite catchy.

(2 points) Battle Gear 4 plus Battle Gear 4 Tuned Original Soundtrack - The Moment Of True: Love this soundtrack. Don't necessarily love this song (it's a bit reptitive, never as rockin' as some of the others), but in this field it does the job.

(1 point) AeroGauge (Game Rip) - City 2065: This doesn't feel like a typical racing game track to me. Maybe it's the sample quality (oy, the N64), or simply the sample selection (the lighter lead synth suggests more a Japanese RPG than racer). Still, not half bad.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

I was kind of hoping people would jump on this one, seeing as everyone but the few philistines like me seems to have a hard-on for racing musics. But no. Maybe the wi-fi in your Formula 1 is crappy.

0.9 - ultimate groove I'm note sure I would technically label this a groove, much less an ultimate one.

AeroGauge (Game Rip) - City 2065 Sounds like a battle theme from Okamiden moreso than a racing theme. I can't decide if that's a plus or minus as yet, since I am also one of the few philistines who didn't dig the calligraphy wolf.

Battle Gear 4 plus Battle Gear 4 Tuned Original Soundtrack - The Moment Of True Has a nice riff that could easily be developed into something neat and rock-opera-ish. But no, it just gets repeated 7 times.

F-ZERO GX-AX Original Soundtracks - CAPTAIN FALCON Yeah, yeah, Falcon punch to the eardrum, whee.

Jet Moto 2 (Red Book Audio) - Mach Schnell I am sure I have seen/heard this before (BSC, maybe?). Anyway, it's head and shoulders above the others in terms of catchiness, mostly thanks to that glorious synth melody.

Racing Lagoon Original Sound Track - TAIMAN Battle Has its moments, but loses all semblance of coherency around a quarter of the way in and never recovers.

San Francisco Rush - Extreme Racing (N64 Game Rip) - Rave Rush Ohh ohh ohh ohh, ohh.

Turbo Out Run (C64 Game Rip) - Intro Even riddled with horrible synth trills and SFX as it is, this piece is like a breath of fresh air.

The Point Spread
Mach Schnell - 3 pts.
City 2065 - 2 pts.
Intro - 1 pt.

Not digging this week, but you knew that already.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Nom bias maybe, but nothing else interests me quite as much as Jet Moto.

3 points - Jet Moto 2 (Red Book Audio) - Mach Schnell
1 point - Battle Gear 4 plus Battle Gear 4 Tuned Original Soundtrack - The Moment Of True
1 point - Racing Lagoon Original Sound Track - TAIMAN Battle
1 point - 0.9 - ultimate groove

3 points: TAIMAN Battle
2 points: Intro
1 point: Rave Rush
Just Missed: ultimate groove, City 2065, The Moment Of True, Mach Schnell,
CAPTAIN FALCON

YESSSSSSSS Rave Rush, one of my favorite tracks from the best bracket in BSC history. Rip quality sounds a bit different though.

Stunned at the Turbo Out Run tune, that is some serious SID mastery right there. Reminds me of that Hot Rod chiptune that I inexplicably hated for a reason I can't even remember.

TAIMAN Battle is beast, as are the rest of Eguchi's tunes on Racing Lagoon. Craaaaaaazy soundtrack.

Awesome week and I am totally biased.

My next nom:

Album: SEGA Rally 2006
Composer: Mitsuharu Fukuyama
Track: Irritation
Track #: 12
Catalog #: WWCE-31116
Year: 2006
Source: WWCE-31116 | SEGA Rally 2006 Original Sound Track - VGMdb
Info: Yes, this would've been my Racing Game nom had I not been lazy. Uploading to the FTP shortly.
