Power calibration error
L: TSSTcorp CD/DVDW SH-S182M
This error may be a culprit. I used to get that alot at home, when I would use my external DVD+R/RW/DL drive. I couldn't quite find out how to fix it. I'd just restart and try burning later and that would work.
Just a suggestion..

How old is your burner?

Optical drives do die. And fairly frequently at that. The solution may be to shell out another $30 and get another drive.

Power calibration error usually mean it's probably never going to write a DVD+R ever again. I've had a similar problem and it ended up with me buying another one. However, I was still able to burn CD-Rs...
Arain's right; it's dead. 30 bucks on pricegrabber. They're pretty much all the same.

I have a similar problem: My HP DVD+/-RW will start to burn a DVD, but at about 3% complete the buffer will reach 100% and progress will never continue, requiring a manual power-down to clear Nero 6 out of the processes. I'm pretty sure it's not Nero because it works with my other DVD burners. Anyone had a problem like this before, or know how to fix it without buying a new drive?

That sucks RYU. Have you tried pulling it out and making sure all the cables are firmly in place? Is it too late to get it returned?
