What is your opinion about Hentai?
 

I'm a normal man, but believe me, I hate Hentai to death. I couldn't understand why there are lot of people like them. In my opinion Hentai are rather discriminative art and couldn't be considered even an erotic art since the composition between the man and woman rather inbalance. In erotism we could find the beauty of heteroerotic but in hentai?

Hentai are just tools to expose big boobs, tits, or other annoying details, god, how come people cope with these vulgarity??:doh:

So, you hate porn in general or just drawn stuff? I mean, some porn revolves around a single fetish, like big breasts, blowjobs, footjobs, S&M shit, etc. Hentai does the same thing, only you get some of the more freakier stuff (lolicon, dismemberment, skullfucking, etc.).

There's no beauty in hentai other than the occassional decent artwork. And I don't really get how it's a "discriminative" art. Could you explain.

"Discriminative" here means art in hentai only revolve around the woman as "object". I have noticed, majority of hentai art always focusing how man playing the woman's genital like object or toy, and not to mention, sometimes the facial expression of the woman is like being raped (at least, that's the impression I got).

It's very different in hetererotic photography where the man and woman are treated equals beautifully. So far, the most beautiful non-hentai art I found is only in Berserk by Kentaro Miura (how I wish there are lots of non-explicit art like these).

But maybe Hentai also reflects how japanese treat woman as second class.

I guess it depends on what you're into. Obviously the stuff that appears in hentai isn't something that you enjoy but there is stuff out there that you do, you just have to look elsewhere to find it. Weather you like it or not is a strictly person by person basis. By the same token, why do people like S&M? Because it gets them off, simple as that. It's not for everyone but hey, whatever works, right?

I guess you're right, in the end it returns to us to decide whether you want to see them or not. But to be honest, sexual concepts of japanese are rather confusing. I mean, where could you find, dickgirl (omg), lolicon, yaoi, etc?

Most pornography depicts exactly the things that you say you dislike. Women as objects, inequality between the sexes etc.

If you haven't noticed it when watching 'normal' porn, then you haven't been paying attention. It's why so many people like myself don't like pornography in general, hentai isn't much different, other than being exagerated.

The Japanese are crazy, but so are most cultures. Just be glad we haven't seen midget hentai yet.

My opinion on hentai. I'm not against it. It's just your average porn that you would see irl or in front of you (a naked chick offering you a lap dance in the club). Kuradoberi is right about the japanese, they are crazy when it comes to exaggerating sex. but if you look at some hentais, they aren't so bad. Sometimes they tend to add story in it. o.o;

My girlfriend and I (Handy) bought a squid last weekend. It was a little messy at first but she went on to say how it sucked better than I did. There are some hentai out there that have pretty decent stories. Personally, I found Tsukihime and Fate/Stay Night (and it's sequel) to be fun and engaging. Granted I've never played the h-games themselves, but the sex itself from what I've read seems very tacked on. There's a massive emphasis on story and character development over the cheesy porn.

I don't normally watch hentai at all, actually. Handy doesn't like it. The most I've done is check out summaries of the aforementioned h-games and watch the anime based on them. Melty Blood, a fighting game spin-off of Tsukihime, is loads of fun for example. Straightforward hentai movies are typically really shitty premises with flat characters that fit certain fetishes. There's your loli, there's you bookish bitch, there's your well-rounded heroine, and there's the older, mature Japanese chick with a naughty twist. There's generally no plot outside of how to get idiot male lead into vagina B to vagina C.

Some games are good. Fate/stay night has a few good fighting games. Im not sure if thats counted as a h-game . Unless im missing something and im not playing the storyline at all. Melty Blood would be another game i enjoyed playing as well, yet another fighting game with a Cadenza upgrade. nothing much.

One of many things I don't like about hentai is when I see a hentai about my fav game/anime. (Like Oh My Godness! for instance.)

Fate/Stay has a doujin fighting game, though the name escapes me. Melty Blood is coming to the PS2 later this year (or in a few months, I can't remember that either).

Anyway, I think every facet of pornography has it's over-the-top incarnations. On these very forums there's Eel Sex, and that's not hentai (lol). I highly recommend not scrolling much past the first three posts, as someone found some real people and . . . just don't go there.
There will be hentai that stays within the ideas of 'normal sex', and there will be hentai that really goes too far and is more laughable than arousing.
I've seen some, but I'm just not a big fan of it, and never really have been.

Hentai is awesomely bad. Granted I never find it actually arousing, I watch hentai when I'm bored because it's usually entertaining. Sometimes I find myself chuckling, even laughing out loud, at how absurd the scenario may be. Dialogue is laughable, and some scenarios leading to sex are even worse than real life porn at times.

However, the short little black man is right, hentai can have a good story at times, such as the Type Moon games. It's unfortunate I can neither write, speak, nor read Japanese, as I'm sure there are engaging stories and actual good drama in some high production hentai games. Shuffle! comes to mind, as the anime did have a good amount of drama that was seemingly taken from the game itself (judging by the CG set I have). Even Bible Black had a good, interesting story to it, despite some minor guro and futa from the scary blonde teacher. I'm actually looking forward to watching the sequel. People just need to rip episodes into ogm or mkv formats.

Hentai is just like porn but with a story.. oh wait, porn has bad stories too... um... it's ok to watch once in a while it's just like real porn, it's just entertainment. Hentai is disgusting, though suggestive undertones are okay -- hell I like it when there are some undertones. I've been reading A.I. Love you - an old manga series (yes, I am a guy) - and I like how there are undertones, but no sex. Sure, they make get naked or something like that may happen, but the author always finds a way to make a funny situation out of it.

I tend to read those 13+ or 16+ mangas, but I wouldn't go near anything as filthy as Bible Black (a hentai anime).

Hentai is discusting, now you can have some stuff that is close to hentai but not be gross, i thought Golden Boy was some of the funniest shit i have ever seen, so being perverted in that way is ok, but going so far as to animate some of the things i have heard about, i havnt accualy seen much. mostly from when i was first getting into anime with kazaa, i would be looking for all the stuff for an anime, and a hentai would pop in there and i wouldnt know what the fuck it was. But Hentai is just overrated and gross.

Meh, personally its all about preferences man.. others hate, others like it. I play it for the storyline(ie. AIR, Kana~Imouto). They H-sceness are just there for eye-candy, tasty one netherless :). The Story is the true turn on :).

Whoever did the Words Worth anime could have done a lot more with the series if they'd spent less time on the cheesy sex and more on the actual story, which was kinda funny.
