Classroom Seating Arrangement
Where do y'all sit in class.
I usually just take the back seat, so I can eat candy and read comic books. But there is this strange phenomenon that even though there are tons of seats around you, some asshole always has to sit right next to you. They just stare at you, of course. |

Usually the second row or something, not too far back since the folks in the back smell like old candy and BO. |
As long as I'm not in the very front, I sit anywhere. However, if the floor is flat, then I avoid the back since I do want to see the board sometimes.
Chillout Lounge please, lol.
Anyway, I usually sit in the back. I guess it's a black thing. Or Asian, too, I guess. |
Either the second or third row so I can see the board, but still doodle when the teacher gets boring. I always like to sit on the ends of the rows if we have those long desks rather than singles. That way I don't have to squeeze past other people that take up all the space if I wanna get out.
I'm blind as a bat, so I always fight for the front. Even when I don't lose my glasses, I sit in the front. Studies show that the bitches in the back don't learn as much.
I like to chill in the middle of all my classes. That way I can pay attention or sleep as necessary.
The middle at the sides are my home. Usually I pick the side that is closest to the door... cuz you never know what might happen that would require a speedy exit.
I'm also a fan of sitting at the back. It's good for being able to not pay attention, and it serves to keep people from being behind me.

Sitting at the back or the sides of a classroom is the only way I can see enough to take notes. If I secure a good vantage point in the middle, I'll more than likely be surrounded by taller people.
I just sit wherever the hell I want to, really. If there's a spot available, I'll take it, or I'll just be with people I know.
I sit near the back as close to the door as I can if possible. I also make it so no one sits next to me. I'm not claustrophobic, but I hate having strangers sit next to me.
If it's a class worth my time to stay awake for, I sit in the way front. Because having the teacher stare at you discourages me on falling asleep
I have the equivalent of the staring guy but they sit behind me and always has a cold and sneezes all over my neck for the duration of the class. And then I go home and get sick. |
when i did go to school, i would love to sit in the back of class jus to get put in the front of the class. me and my friends use to do it just for the laughs... failed most of the classes we did it in but was fun
Yeah this guy with hives trys to sit beside me all the time. And he is insane and always acts out these really annoying final fantasy 7 roleplays! I just want to club him to death with a blunt object of some sort!! : D
I've tried moving my seating arrangement to trick him but it seems to no matter how late I get there he is always later and once I skipped class but he found me. D : |
2nd to 3rd row looks good to me :) I get pissed if I'm too far back and can't see the board clearly either coz the lecturer writes too small or some idiot's head is blocking my view heh.
I always liked to sit in the back. However, nowadays I'm forced to sit in the first row >__>
if it's a big class or a lecture i sit at the back, if it's a small class (less than 10) i sit at the front, something in between then i sit in the middle. though if i'm late i just sit wherever that's free
Depending on what kind of class it is, I usually sit up front, sometimes right in front of the teacher. When I get bored, I fall asleep...right in front of the teacher.
Usually second or third row, also depends on where my friends are sitting.
I sit in roughly a couple of rows behind the back so as not to be labelled as a backbencher but enjoy all the benefits, and a side is a plus if there are no females around, if there are, I'd sit right in the middle of them (and I still manage to be called a geek, :p edit: usually because I argue with the professors so much :argue: )
I sit in the same seat for all of my classes - back row, on the left. There's three of us that sit at the same table, and generally talk/make a nuisence for the whole class.
I either sit near a friend or all the way in the back of the room. I don't know...I think I tend to learn more in the back.
I prefer to sit at the back, most of the time. Unfortunately, I always end up sitting at the sides, leaning against the wall. Not bad, really.
In grad school I had a lot of "round table" seating arrangements, so for those I'd tend to sit near the back corner in hopes I wouldn't be asked to talk as much. (Unless I had a group for something, then of course I'd sit with them.)
But for regular rows of desks I like the 3rd row or so from the front. Too far up makes me feel silly, but too far back and it's hard for me to follow the class. |
I sit near the girls I like.
When there isn't any in the classroom, I'll just go to the back. I like it there, I can see everything that's going on in the room and the teacher usually leaves me alone until I have something to say. |
When you have a group of 15 people in a class room big enough to fit 200, you're kind a forced in the front. I usually sit on the corners, since it gives me more legspace, and since I'm left, so that I don't have to bother other people.
If it's a class I'm interested in, I'll sit in the front to earn recognition and brownie points. A lot of my classes are very small anyway, so there's nowhere to hide. Never sit in the back, though; only pothead hippie commie nazi stoners sit back there.
When I teach, I ask people to move out of the back rows and come to the front. THERE IS NO ESCAPE. |

I usually head for the nearest window, near the back. Unfortunately, some of classes have no windows, but I think I instinctively just head towards the back corners anyways.
It seems, though, that these areas attract a lot of talkers. I get mad, you know, since I actually pay to be in class and I don't so much fall asleep anymore like I did in high school. I want to be there. It seems that I attract the fucking assholes who want to chat and never work in class. |
I usually try to sit where my friends are but in my math class I have to sit up close for when I'm taking notes and stuff.
Depends on placement of the door. If I am in a smaller room for one of my major classes (15-40 people), I'll sit near the middle where my buddies are.
Back in my 100-class days where I would have 200+ students in my room per class, I would sit near the back often because that's where the entrance/exit was found. And I prefer quick entrances/escapes when crowds get humongous. |
