well, just had a test game with Zeph & DX, so I'll be up for some games (assuming my internet stays on >_> ) on the weekends later, at least after I get all the basic rules down.

My sister has had quite an enthusiasm for M:tG lately but was using Magic Workstation rather than OCTGN. Is Magic Workstation worse than OCTGN, or somethin'?

Also, assuming my game with my sister goes okay, anyone up for a game with us at some point?

Also, does anyone have an alternate download site for the core editions? My brother just got tagged at home by our ISP for something in pirate bay so I'm trying not to use them for a while.

Actually, now that I've used MWS, I actually like it. It's needlessly complex on the actual usability side, a clear case of power programmer nerds writing a program for themselves, but it was a lot easier to find the card packs for it. >_> Remains to be seen if the actual online play is easy.

Well, for starters, MWS only supports 2 players, whearas OCTGN is up to 6. Then there's all the crap you have to put up with if you don't pay for MWS:

-Shareware reminder and banner ads.
-30 card limit in set creation, I wouldn't have been able to make Magic: the Gamingforce in MWS.
-Can't customize MWS's appearance, and even when you can it still looks ugly.

I've been busy recently, but I'll try to get some in.

Best I can do is Megaupload.

Is there any way to make OCTGN not tell you your deck is illegal? I downloaded the Alara set and all of the cards in it are completely illegal.

I haven't found a fix for that yet.

On the other hand, I really don't care what it tells me. I know what's legal.

In OCTGN click Game -> Database -> Load Database Patch. The set should have come with a file called something like SoA Legality DB.octgn. Browse to that, select it, and patch the database.

I can't figure this out! Why can't I get to pictures for the Gamingforce cards or the Alpha through tenth sets show up?? The rest of the sets seem to work fine...
