Tensions in the Middle East soared this morning with the confirmation of Hezbollah claims that two of their fighters had been killed in an air strike on the town of Qana.

Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert expressed his "deep sadness and regret" at the actions, maintaining that "we are not targetting guilty terrorists, only the innocent men, women and children who hide among them."

The attack on Qana had been previously considered a success before this morning's events, with up to 31 children killed before the two Hezbollah fighters met their end whilst attempting to fire rockets into Israeli territory.

So far, Hezbollah rockets have managed to penetrate only as far as Haifa, with Sheik Hassan Nasrallah, leader of the rogue group, promising to revenge the attacks and "strike the centre of the Zionist state."

Meanwhile, Olmert is left to consider how to further undermine the war on terror and increase anti-semetism within both Arab and Western nations, declaring that the principle mission of Israel remains "to wipe out civilian men, woman and children within Lebanon, ensure the insecurity of our state, and further strengthen the dangerous Islamism sweeping the Middle East."

"The death of these Hezbollah fighters may actually be solving the issue, and a full investigation into how this tragedy occured will be launched. Until then, I encourage all Hezbollah fighters to evacuate their towns to best avoid further terrorist accidents."
