Video Games Live
Tommy Tallarico is really short in person.

Alright, I'm terrible at writing reviews, but I just got back from this and I'd at least like to say some stuff. Plus I told Tommy I would. I don't even know where to start. The whole thing was pretty damn awesome. And being in the second row was great, other than that light on the right side. We tried to get him to pick a friend of mine to do the Space Invaders thing, but Tommy was too easily swayed by cleavage. And of course that guy who yelled to kill all the people who think video games promote violence was epic lulz.

Let's see... The classics medley in the beginning was pretty cool. Certainly wasn't expecting anything like Dragon's Lair. The pianist was absolutely amazing. It's mind-boggling that anyone can move that fast and still hit the right keys. Considering how much Crash talks about it whenever it comes up, it was pretty cool when they started playing Baba Yetu. The Halo and Castlevania parts were pretty epic. As far as the ending, while I don't have anything against One Winged Angel, especially the guitar version, I would have liked to see something like Dancing Mad.

I ended up buying two copies of the Video Games Live Volume One cd, so hopefully my friend will pay me back for that soon. And a Video Games Live hat. Mostly because I'm still pissed that they were out of Rock Band hats way back when they had that thing at Best Buy. It took everything I had to keep myself from spending even more money on the Earthworm Jim cd (sorry Infernal). Ended up getting them to sign the back cover of the cd. I told Tommy that they should put in some Megaman and Earthbound music. I meant to also say something about Ace Combat. My friend said they should do Devil May Cry, and was promptly ignored for more discussion of Megaman (he says they're working on 2 and 3).

All in all it was a lot of fun and it was completely worth it to see. Also that pong shirt (that was me that said something) and the Spiderman guitar were pretty ballin.

On a side note, my internet has been shit lately, so I haven't really been able to be around. Not that any of you assholes care. Now I'm going to copypasta this into the VGL thread.

I blame Qwarky (terrible picture inside)
Alright, so I went out and got some used games.

DS Rumble pack for lulz.
Psychonauts for awesome.
Ace Combat 5 for awesome.
Star Ocean Till the End of Time for...I don't really know why.
Phantom Brave because I like Nippon Ichi srpgs.
Dark Cloud 2 because I keep hearing the name, but I can't remember if what I hear was good or bad.
Wild Arms 3 because I can't remember which ones are supposedly good and which ones are supposedly bad, but I really liked the first one.
Sneak King for epic l (also $2 lolol).

Also got a wirless ps2 controller, since I've been meaning to get one.

Plan on going back to the place I got Psychonauts and Phantom Brave from since they have a bunch of Dreamcasts. Speaking of which, how much effort is it to play burned Dreamcast games?

Only reason I really went out was because I was looking for Stubbs the Zombie (and Psychonauts if I found it).

Coke machine
So we got a new coke machine at work last week. It's a bit silly.

It has a big touch screen on the front of it. It has a jukebox, but that refuses to work right now. You can get ringtones, wallpapers, screensavers, and games for you cell phone. You can take pictures and send them to email or phones. You can play (terrible) games. You can buy random Coke crap, like hats, bottles, mugs, coolers, and little toy cars, and have them shipped to you. It has a credit card reader.

Oh yeah, and you can buy drinks, I guess.

I played Rock Band in a Best Buy parking lot
That's right, I will forever be on the internet as another random loser who played a fake guitar on stage.

So I'm getting set to leave work today, and one of the other guys shows up with a rock band hat, and is all "Hey you can get a hat at the best buy in hoover if you go play" and I'm all "cool" because I want a hat.

So I get there and walk up to the thing they have set up. A guy hands me a shirt. I tell him "I'll be honest with you. I only came because I was told I'd get a hat. So he rummages around in the box, and tells me they're out. He then rummages around in the box some more and hands me a stack of bumper stickers, a set of drum sticks, and a handful of guitar picks. Now, why I didn't leave at this point is beyond me. I only wanted a hat. They didn't have any hats. I already had everything else they were offering.

But no, I play bass. And I figure "I'm already up here, I may as well go all out and look like a complete retard." So I try to get into it. I just couldn't bring myself to. I really tried. I couldn't.

So yeah. Paco, we were laughing about those guys before. Now I'm one of them. Shoot me now.

I want my fucking hat.

Birthdays etc.
So yesterday was my birthday. My mom called me at work, at like 8. Didn't even talk to my dad at all. Got home at 10 and found a bag with some terrible shirts in it. Nothing really special happened. Nothing ever does.

I always seem to have bad days on my birthday. Maybe it's just normal days (which are never really good to begin with) but they look worse since it's my birthday and at least something should go right.

Moving on.
