Bethesda releases Daggerfall as freeware
Not sure if this is news anymore, but might as well!
To celebrate the 15th anniversary of The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall, Bethesda has released it for free download, joining The Elder Scrolls: Arena. Downloadan both here You'll mostly likely need DOSbox, but it's worth checking out. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
For the first two days, it was being hammered to the point that my download would drop off to about .4 kb/s and fail. After day two, it stabilized at a retarded-but-manageable 2.0 kb/s.
And then I couldn't figure out how to play it after installing it through DOSBox. Probably gonna just put this on my old laptop and try again. There's nowhere I can't reach. |

Use VirtualBox / VMWare and MSDOS 6.22 / FreeDOS.
I had it running on DOSBox though, works pretty good. How ya doing, buddy? |
So would anyone be willing to help the idiot of the computer world? Working with command boxes isn't my forte. I've placed the packed contents of the Daggerfall download into the folder DOSGAMES on my desktop, and from the reading the wiki, I worked to start up the game but to no avail. Any suggestions?
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |

Rough game. I died twice already. First time I didn't know what I was diong but second time.... I was speaking idiomatically. |
Wark! |
I've been meaning to get around to playing this - my first Bethesda experience was Morrowind and that was one of the best PC games I've played. It had its faults but most were outbalanced by the sheer scope of the game. Oblivion was great, but somehow failed to evoke the same atmosphere...
May as well take advantage of this... What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
Thanks for the link and the heads up!
I played the hell out of TES 3 and 4, it should be interesting to see what differences are visible in the second game. Hopefully these games will be just as addictive. FELIPE NO |
