Symphonic Poem "Hope" FF12 Theme???

Ok ive heard in several locations that this is a rendition of the FFXII theme song (not the vocal, but the actual main theme) If it is, i shall here and now, put aside all doubts that Sakamoto wouldnt be the man for this game. I am totally blown away by the melody of this song (1 song, 5 "movements").
The 3rd and 5th movement almost put tears in my eyes......

Anyone have any comments, corrections (oh dont blow this for me!!) or anything else pertaining to this release??

Jam it back in, in the dark.

You too eh?? ><;

I too really hope it is the main theme and not something just written for trailers/commercials because quite frankly it qould be such a waste if it was...

There's nowhere I can't reach.

I hope this is the theme from FFXII because I heard some of the music taken from the demo and I was pretty dissapointed, especially after the amazing FFX OST. If this is music based from the game maybe the rest of the soundtrack will redeem itself.

At least you guys have a date, we here in Europe don't even have one.. AGAIN!

And because of some people in countries like France, Spain and Germany don't want to learn english we have to wait even longer because of stupid localisation..

We will be screwed by SE once again..

;_;

I was speaking idiomatically.

seems like SE is good to at least get it to ya though. even if you do have to wait for localization. Cant wait for ps3 to come out, wont have any localization problems with it at all!

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

This is just a "music inspired by" FFXII cd. None of this music will make it to the game itself.

boo, then maybe the FFXII OST will be as much of a letdown as the demo music was. They even downgraded the sound quality of the samples from that of FFX. If you are gonna do a sequel at least keep the sample quality the same if not better than the previous game, why did they use worse samples?!?!?!?

I have mixed feelings about the Symphonic Poem. It is good, but nothing really outstanding. It is a just an avergage symphonic work that doesn't surpass the symphonic sophistication of Masashi Hamauzu or the colorful orchestral palette of Shiro Hamaguchi. However, with all the negatives said about the music there are a couple positives. One, it is orchestral music. Two, it had the title FFXII on it so it served its purpose in drawing many FF music fans to it, .

The melody that's heard in the 3rd and 5th movement is the FFXII Main Theme. A great melody superbly performed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra London!

I think you're presenting an opinion as a fact here. Personally, I feel comparing Yuji Toriyama and Taro Hakase's work with the creations of Masashi Hamauzu and Shiro Hamaguchi is irrelevant. All these musicians specialise in different fields and the former two never intended to emulate previous FF works. And, besides, what musical evidence do you have to back up that Symphonic Poem "Hope" is merely 'average', that Toriyama and Hakase are uncapable of rivalling the symphonic sophistication of another composer (who, may I add, usually has an orchestrator on his side), and that they fail to utilise an especially colourful palette of instruments? It is just an opinion, nay? I see where you're coming from, but disagree and find the comparisons completely unnecessary, particularly when they're presented in such a subjective yet opinionated way.

Personally, I expected something different from Symphonic Poem "Hope" -- something longer, more epic, and more virtuosic. However, I'm more than satisfied with what is provided, despite this. The main theme is rich and beautiful, well-supported by sensitive performances, delicate use of instrumentation, and an overall sense of buoyancy and optimism. While I do not intend to purchase it, it's certainly a worthy prologue to FFXII.

Amen Mr Maul! Exactly what I thought, but couldn't write it in words as good as you have done there. Indeed a worthy prologue to FFXII.

I certainly am hoping the actual FF XII OST is as good and better than these tracks. They are a nice companion to the hope trailer and im hoping the music accompanying the CG cutscenes are as good.

How ya doing, buddy?

I'd have to say I agree with that. I wasn't really sure what to expect from this before I heard it, and I got a pleasant surprise when I first listened to it.

I agree with Maul. I have to say that I really really like "Hope". Although it is short, every single second is pure bliss. Wonderful melody, great orchestration... and the violin...!

I still don't see what makes this album more than average, but I was only expressing my opinons. I just hope that the original soundtrack will be good. I'm really excited to hear the opening track since I have heard that the opening sequence will be quite lengthy.

I think the melodies in this songs are beautiful and it's suitable to FF XII mediaval theme. I wont understand if some people are dissapointed because of this.
